Well indeed (said it before!) it would have been in the U.K's best interest to have remained in a 'sensible' EU common market.
One problem i.e. freedom of movement and the uncontrolled and unsustainable immigration figures that came with EU membership would end up with a future U.K population increase that would be catastrophic.
