headbangr..weekend world
[Post edited 1 Mar 2018 17:44]
The original of the Weekend World theme.
If you look at the comments, half are Americans, reminiscing about seeing Mountain at some festival, or about it being their Daddy's favourite song, while the others are British talking about Brian Walden head banging once the studio lights went down, or being excited because it meant that Police 5/The Big Match/The Smurfs were about to come on.
There were so many evocative songs passing before my eyes as I scrolled through this post (brilliant effort BMC) but this is one that as soon as I heard it I fell in love with it and it became even more poignant as it transpired to be his death knell song.
every serial killer that dresses in his victims skins, tap dancing in the pale moonlight should have this theme tune. insane.
'Picture box'
Blimey Disco, I had totally forgotten about Picture Box. Listening to it now takes me right back, that was weird. I remember watching it as a kid and just being transfixed by the music and the box going round. In fact I’m dribbling just watching it again now. Between that and the test card all day 70’skids were spaced out funky doodled.
