You can apply it to other players too.
Caroll was available for years but nobody else touched him. So was Naughton, Narsingh wasn't wanted, Bony was not wanted. The list goes on.
We do not buy players who have had good seasons recently or are on the up, we buy players who have been on massive declines and hope we can turn it around.
Only Mawson and Abraham from recent memory came here after good seasons elsewhere, and those were in inferior leagues. | |
