Some of the goals we scored under Laudrup were absolutely phenomenal.
Now Tom Carroll whips in a hopeful cross from the corner flag and its deemed our goal of the season if someone heads it in.
Expectations have nosedived amongst our fan base. I do not understand those who are saying we replaced Michu easily. Just because Gylfi plays in the same position, we did not easily replace him. One is a set piece merchant who we have had to completely overhaul our playing style to accommodate (quite successfully), the other was an integral part in building attacks from the back and playing football that made fans excited to go and watch.
We replaced his goals quite easily with bonus goals... agree??
I agree he was a good player, but great👀 Naaa not for me. One season he had and your saying we still miss him?! Ha! Sorry pal.. Michu proved he couldn't keep his performances up.
Good player good season not a great...
And bony prefers it hoofed up to him??? What!!! Hash that...
The movement and creative side to bony was unreal. He was a good player for us too possibley better than Michu as he produced it season after season, and is still playing premier league football.
First off i must state, I fully supported Wilf even in the early days, when most on here were calling him all sorts....
But lets be honest, Bony barely played till Michu got injured against the Scum.
Also I believe the Premier League stats below prove Michu had the edge over Bony too.
Michu scored 18 goals in 35 Prem appearances in his most productive season with us (2012/13), playing as an attacking midfielder/striker. (None of which were penalties) He was also credited with "8 Big Chances Created" and averaged 32.00 passes per game.
Bony scored 16 goals in 34 Prem appearances in his most productive season with us (2013/14), playing as an out and out striker. (4 of which were penatlies) He was also credited with "3 Big Chances Created" and averaged 24.24 passes per game.
NEITHER man kicked on after leaving us but Michu was blighted by injury ultimately ending his career. Though being fair, Bony's had a few himself including suffering from malaria. But to say Bony is STILL doing it in Premier league is simply a joke, NO? His record since leaving us says so.... Prem stats while at Citey (36 games over 1.5 seasons / 6 goals) Even when going on loan to Stoke, he's failed bismally. (10 games / 2 goals against us ironically)
I truely believe in my humble opinion that Michu was a much more complete footballer than Bony. What would have been interesting though ,is what could of been if they both had played consistently together. Shame we never really got to find out.....

Exactly. Most spot-on post I think I've ever seen you post.....
Also if I recall, ML wasn't that keen/fussed on signing Gylfi first time round either, instead he had his heart set on signing Michu.
And I think we all agree that we witnessed some of the best football EVER played by a Swans team that season. Well certainly since the 37 years I've been watching anyway.
Michu was class in the first few months of his second season too. Not as many goals but his build up play and assists had improved, and at times he was running the game
Michu was missing for the start of the season through injury. Came back for 4 or 5 games in which he only made the bench for 3 and then went out again "injured"... so to say he ran games in his second season I believe that is wrong. His second season was very stop start.
See now, I always thought he was a midfielder that we ended up playing as a striker.
Some of his opponents certainly thought he could be compared with the leading strikers. I remember reading an article by Damien Delaney in which he was asked to rate who was hardest to play against that year out of Rooney, Van Persie, Michu, Soldado, Sturridge and Ozil. The original link is dead now but I found this extract.
'It may surprise, but it was the cheapest striker of the lot that Delaney puts top of the pile.
“Michu, without question. Oh without doubt. His movement, his strength, he’s got the lot (...) He’s the best player I’ve played against in a big while. That doesn’t take anything away from any of the other players, they’re all top notch, but Michu has intelligence, and the way Swansea retain the ball; they keep finding him, he’d pick up some pockets there where I found it difficult… he always finds space. (...) He played for Spain last week too, so they’ve obviously recognised what he’s doing, and he’s good enough to get into that team.”'

A little wrong I think carol and hopeful just doesn't go! Haha...also 9 out of Michu's 22 goals were from crosses....
Well he was more than a good player wasn't he he was a class act but I completely agree with where you're coming from.
Some of the tweets about him are vomit inducing. I saw one earlier where a girl was saying he's the person that inspired her the most.
What. The. Fuçk?
Daz you can't criticize the girl for feeling inspired by Michu or anyone else mun, what ever helps people to go forward has got to be good thing, good for her I say.
Best player I've seen in a Swansea Shirt for yrs and yrs, you can't really compare Michu and Bony they both had their own styles of play, that said if it came down to a choice of an on fire Michu or Bony, I'd take Michu all day long and I loved what Bony did for us.
They are hopeful. We'll lump the ball into the box relentlessly for 90 minutes, whether it is from a corner, open play by the corner flag, 20 yards short of the box or even just lumping it in from the halfway line (Against Chelsea for example).
It is appalling to watch, however the football under Monk was do woeful that many have become accustomed to it and not only accept it, but have grown to enjoy it. We used to laugh at teams like Stoke, yet we now play far more ugly football than they ever did.
The greatest ever Swansea City player. That's Michu. One of the best finishers I've ever seen in this country too. The second goal against QPR away on his debut was one of the best I've seen.
For fans screaming "he's no legend compared to Roger and Cornforth because he was only with us two seasons" WT absolute f*ck????
He was the best player in the best and most successful f*cking team we've EVER had! Just because he never played against Orient away is no reason to strip him of his well deserved legendary status!
Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

Top rant fair play 👠and i agree with every word of it!
You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.
Best player to pull on a swans shirt in my life time be it a short but sweet episode but by f@ck was he breath taking at times , absolute pleasure to watch
Another player who we brought the best out in.I don't think I'll ever see a season and a player so good like that one again. He was a bit of a t**t towards the end and showed us little respect so that'll always take the shine off the man for me.
He was phenomenal in fairness. Great memories and moments.
Given the figures being bandied around this summer £2 million seems almost comical.
Hope he has a long and happy retirement.
"The Student" has finished his studies! He was the most exciting, get up off your seat player we've ever had. Every time he had the ball there was expectation from the crowd. I've watched the Swans for about 50 years and no one has even got close to the anticipation that you felt when Michu had the ball. Probably the calmest finisher we've had with head or feet. Thank you for your time with us , one of the best years of football we've witnessed. How we could do with you now, this coming season! Come back and visit us , as someone said previously Tatey's testimonial would be ideal.
