Which Cup is this.......the one that QPR knocked us out last season?
Yep, that's the one. It's the League Cup, the one Man Utd won last season against Southampton in the final.
I presume the first round is seeded again (I've not checked) and as we finished in the top 35 of the 70 clubs in the draw we will be seeded and so therefore play a team from L2 or who finished in the bottom half of L1.

Lincoln City maybe?.........they still have all the merchandise.
So the first-round draw will be Dale vs one of the following 17, either at home or away?
Accrington Stanley Blackpool Bury Carlisle United Chesterfield Coventry City Crewe Alexandra Doncaster Rovers Grimsby Town Lincoln City Mansfield Town Morecambe Notts County Oldham Athletic Port Vale Shrewsbury Town Walsall

Anyone else like me who hates seeding in cup competitions? The beauty of a cup competition is that you can play anyone else in the draw and with the luck of the draw you can avoid heavyweights for a few rounds and make progress, build excitement and make money.
As it is, in a draw that includes 70 teams we can only be drawn against one of 17 teams - that makes the draw about as exciting as a night out in B**y.
I like the seeding aspect. I like that we have a chance of playing a relatively local side who we haven't played in the league for a while, such as Accrington, Morecambe, or Crewe. Having said that, it'll probably be Chesterfield for the 90th time in the past few seasons.
