No. Privatisation rarely works.

Having worked in Local Gov 17 years, every out sourced service I have seen has crashed and burned and been brought back in house within a few years.

I've heard some real horror stories from other Local Authorities who have made far worse decisions.
Typical Tory way of doing things, Pound signs before everything else, decisions made by idiots who are clueless about the practical knowledge of how things actually work.

It's a different sort of incompetence with privatisation.Either way both models showed/shows utter contempt for the general public - especially the railways.
