We need to be careful here as things get lost in translation. I suspect it was as much poor management as poor player attitude. He now looks like the player that I thought was the pick of our signings at the start of the season. I hope Frankie gets to have a word in Tabanou"'s shell like at the end of the loan period.

In conclusion, Franco needs to have a frank chat with Franck 👌

Errr, no it was not "right at the end". As it says in your post it was 63mins in!

Fair point the Twitter did say that although I did suggest he should have been subbed at 60 due his lack of match practice. Zlatan's tap in came right at the end. His first one on the 63 was far from a tap in. Superb running off the ball and taking a bouncing cross high with the outside of his boot to pass the out coming keeper. The chance came as a result of two players on the same side going for the ball resulting in it breaking loose for the cross to come in.
Academic anyway as there is no doubt FT put a good shift in and no doubt he would have tired in the second half.
He could be a waster although his career up until joining us did not suggest that. All I am saying is let's see how this loan pans out. If we are safe and he continues to put in good performances then I hope Frankie gets the opportunity to get him back here for another try.

From what I saw, he's not a left back. What did we expect him to be?

He only played one season at left back for St Etienne before coming to us. Before that he was a winger.

If he changes his attitude towards the club, I think he could succeed under Guidolin favoured formation. But I don't see that being likely unfortunately

Got his wage increase we will end up paying him a lumper to piss off back to France.
So gets rewarded for basically not trying.

All in all a shambles.

Why was he signed.

When was it evident he wasn't good enough for us.

Personally , I dont like loaning players as we could suffer injuries or suspension .

I think the problem was Monk's failure to squad rotate. Without decent reserve team competition it means those players remain short of match practice and fall short when called upon. In Franc's case he got mightily pi$$ed off. Wrong in my opinion as, had he ridden the storm, he probably would have got more chances under FG.
I don't mind loaning in such circumstances as we can check his progress closely from here until the end if the season. If he plays well he can come back. If the players refuses then we have a chance to recoup the original investment.

If Monk had allowed him semi-regular football and at least allowed him to sit on the bench every week I don't think he would have gone off the rails as badly as he did.

Was made to feel unwanted from day one. Because he was. Monk wanted a real defender, not a converted winger he'd never heard of.
