Great effort by our bowlers, particularly Anderson & Broad taking 6-30 between them A worry over Stokes, ? dislocated his shoulder, and his bowling shoulder at that Let's see how our revised batting line up does now [Post edited 1 Nov 2015 13:03]

Great opportunity but you can never rely on our batsman, anything could happen.
Third Test Match on 14:08 - Nov 1 with 2882 views | MBoothman | Great performance from our seamers. Rubbish from the spinners. Plenty on the pitch to work with, but not good enough to make it work. We'll struggle to get much more than that on that.

Looking forwards to today's play as it will determine if we have a chance of winning this game or not. Probably need 2 good partnerships and a lead of 75 or so, but not easy.

Agree.Anything over 300 will probably negate losing the toss and having to bat last. Obviously, this innings is pivotal if England are to level up the series. Cooks got his eye on another ton by the looks of it.

Fascinating if not scintillating cricket but a very good day for England. Would be great to bat 2 sessions tomorrow, especially as we are 5 down without Stokes.

It's curious how there's no official news on Stokes. Fearing the worst, but best case scenario is he's just jarred his shoulder with no dislocation. Would obviously still take some time before he could bowl again but it's possible he could still bat, at least holding an end up, should England need him to do so in the second innings. Fingers crossed.

Stokes going for scan this evening, nothing to be said until results come in from that according to Tuffers on TMS

That's a very long wait for a scan by modern standards, especially given his status as a professional cricketer. The thing is, if he had dislocated his shoulder you can't just leave it dislocated, it has to be popped back in fairly sharpish to prevent any further damage. Therefore, I'm slightly optimistic that there's no dislocation.

Third Test Match on 15:56 - Nov 2 with 2470 views | Daley_Lama | TMS discussion was that given the location it was a wait in line jobby for the lad. Hopefully won't need to bat, obviously every run will count but the team have done really well today.

I would assume it is not dislocated as this would show on a standard x-ray ( although it could have dislocated on impact but popped back in) . If they are looking for a tear or strain in a muscle, tendon or ligament, the image on modern scans can be unclear if there is too much swelling around the injury. you sometimes have to wait a few days so that the swelling goes down enough to give a clearer scan image

No dislocation, will be interesting to see if England send him out to hold a end up. On target for a lead of maybe approaching somewhere between 75-100 with a bit of luck.

Stokes batting at no.11 and England pass 300 Edit: out for 0 but had declined a run earlier 10 added to the total which could be very useful in the context of the match, and a display of real courage [Post edited 3 Nov 2015 9:10]

This must surely be a wind up on BBC live online. Text message: Evan Byrne: I can't quite figure out the thinking behind sending Stokes in last. Assuming he is fit to bat then why wait until he has only Anderson or Broad for company? If they had sent him in after Rashid was out, then not only would he have still had Patel and Broad to bat with before Anderson, but the medical team would have had 40 minutes to work on his stiffness and had the luxury of knowing exactly when they needed to get his shoulder ready for action. I think they missed a number of tricks there.

Stokes was struggling to hold the bat, he wasn't capable of playing a shot.
Third Test Match on 11:48 - Nov 3 with 2163 views | aleanddale | Parity!! With 10 wickets left for Pakistan. Batting last could be very tricky and England need the win. A worry about how this side will perform in South Africa next month. From where I am looking we are a very good side at home in English conditions but a very poor side when we are touring.

Great start for England, Anderson strikes in his first over. It should have been two but Bairstow missed a simple stumping.

Pakistan 157 ahead at lunch. England need 6 wickets quickly. Don't fancy chasing down more than 220/230 batting last. Huge session now.

Sadly having a part time opener, wicketkeeper and 3 part time spinners will produce a predictable defeat! When Jimmy retires and if Roots back problems continue, we really are a bit of a shambles!
