Charlie's knee... on 18:56 - Aug 20 with 3472 views | PlanetHonneywood | I think we're all missing something here. If Charlie stays and if he continues to score goals, then as we know, come 1 January, there will be a cavalry charge of desperate clubs looking to bring in a goalscorer mid-season. He might leave then, but we may still get something between £7-10m if we bargain hard. Fact is, through all this, both QPR and CA have come out of this really well and for that, I would heap some praise on SLF for having some rocks and CA for being professional. This might suit us all when thought about having taken one-step back to do so. Of course, if we did somehow get him to sign a contract with a buy-out clause, this might also be to our liking. Either, way, we are playing this rather well. The real test however, is if a £15m comes in that we have someone lined up to come in. Leon Best is not that man, but I am sure the potential buying club may have a decent player to loan and/or, we use the loan system after the window closes when some clubs may want a player to go out on loan and get some game time. p.s. Can I just say, three cracking posts from TacticalR further up! Triffic stuff. [Post edited 20 Aug 2015 18:58]

Charlie's knee... on 20:14 - Aug 20 with 3344 views | enfieldargh | Why not offer Charlie a loyalty bonus to stay until January with a further loyalty bonus if we are up with the leaders to stick around for the rest of the season. If we gain promotion offer him an extra large bonus/signing on fee for a new 2 year contract with a reasonable buy out clause. This way we keep him this season; set our own deadline/ultimatum that if a top 6 club comes in for him by the middle of next week then if he wishes he can go. Circulate this so clubs are aware of what is happening which may force them to sign a 15M cheque? Hopefully he'll stay, please pretty please

Charlie's knee... on 20:21 - Aug 20 with 3308 views | LBSRanger | A warning message to any club looking to sign Charlie Austin. He arrives at the ground in a wheelchair every other week and has to be carried on to the field because of his dodgy knees. He's actually 63 and has Osteogenesis imperfecta. Please consider these factors before bankrupting your pox ridden club to sign what is effectively a reincarnation of Uncle Albert,.

Only fair to mention that he is the wrong sort, too. Very disruptive, learning from his close friend JB. We will do the rest of the 91 a favour and keep him, much in the way we kept JB

Charlie's knee... on 10:12 - Aug 21 with 2577 views | adhoc_qpr | Austin will go on deadline day, Jim White will cream himself and we'll sign some striker on loan to replace him (a young player or someone who misses out on a prem 25 man squad).

Whilst it would be a distraction for QPR, in many ways, I hope it happens. Those comments could easily reduce Charlie's earning potential. Imagine what would happen if those comments were made by one manufacturer about another. "The product looks OK but it's not worth the price people pay for it because we all know it's going to break down any minute". It would lead to a court case and substantial damages. I have got my revenge on the tw@t in my own small way by signing the petition against the Olympic stadium. RFA

Charlie's knee... on 14:11 - Aug 20 by Northernr | The "didn't even keep QPR up" line is a crock of sht. Can you imagine how far down we'd have been without him? Relegated by mid-September. The rest of it though... Don't really see that he's said a lot wrong. We know there's doubts about his knee because he failed the medical at Hull, the financial fair play stuff he'll know what they've got left to spend (could be a bluff), they've been stung with Carroll before... Might work out well for us, we'll end up with the Championship's best striker playing for us again. |
It might indeed do us a massive favour but I don't see why the d1ckhead needed to comment publically. Perhaps he was emboldened by the fact that Cameron has nationalised West Ham . Public ownership gives you that level of confidence. Imagine the scenario the other way round: A player is courted by West Ham but decides not to join them. How many players would then issue a statement saying: "Yeah, on the surface they look like a big club but everyone knows that the owners have nowhere near the money they say they have plus it's common knowledge that the board couldn't run a bath"?
