South Yorkshire plod wouldn't have the big derby game on Good Friday. So instead, they've made it an early Saturday kick off, all ticket and will be out in their hundreds doing their usual very best to treat over 18,000 football fans like human beings, and not hooligans based on in-built prejudice. I can't wait.

A win for Barnsley would be great as it pulls Shef Utd back into the chase making it about 10 teams going for 2 play off places instead of 9 going for 1 I think Preston is our toughest of the lot and a point would almost feel like a win. The port vale game to me is key . 3 points out of 6 would keep us there or there about with 6 games left as other teams are going to drop points too. 4 or more points would be a bonus Come on Barnsley ( and Dale)

Disagree - Barnsley winning would be a bad result for us - especially on the back of 9 game unbeaten run and draws with Preston and Bristol City - they are growing in confidence it seems and beating their local rivals will only boost their chances of making the play offs at our expense.

I've travelled all over the country following Barnsley over the last 20 plus years and only for our local games against both Sheffield clubs have I ever been treated appallingly by police, and for no other reason than being within a yard or two of them, walking on past, minding my own business. Although, funnily enough, at Spotland this season I wasn't given a choice where to go on exiting the away end. The plod escorted lots of us away from the stadium and I've still no clue as to why. I tried explaining to them that I needed to go the other way (I was hoping to go meet 442 actually for a pint) but they said "sure you do" and off I was led. As I said, I've no idea why. There was no trouble whatsoever. However, we are officially the worst club for arrests this season in the entire Football League. So I'm assuming that the vast majority of right minded supporters are suffering for a bellend minority and their bellendish behaviour. Such is life. As for remarks regards whether us beating the Blunts is good or bad for Dale etc, I'd suggest us beating them would be practically the end for United and their playoff hopes, the knives are already out for Clough and nobody bottles it better than Sheff Utd. They've never made it out of the playoffs, six times a failure, this is nightmare territory for them. Whereas, for us, this is just a crazy little run after an awful season, we're quite happy no matter what happens because were we to remain L1 (I think we will) I reckon next season we'd look a decent bet for the automatics in what I expect to be a weaker division. However, as said, if we beat dem Blunts and make it 10 unbeaten, who knows what it could do for us? For Dale, I think it's in your own hands. A point at PNE is very achievable, and I wouldn't rule out the win. Happy hunting ground. Nowt to lose. PNE will be just as fearful of the playoffs as dem Blunts are, with their similarly shite record in playoffs. And I wasn't impressed with them the other week really. Contain Gallagher and Garner and they're nowt special. Central midfield wide open. I expect a Dale and Barnsley double. You Reds. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It would be Hilarious if you go up this season, worst promotion season ever? Typical Barnsley to even have terrible seasons when going up! Agree about next season being a weak league, I'd say it's quite weak this season really, imagine if this league had last years wolves side in it? They would make Bristol City look poor. Probably better for you in the long run to stay down this season, cos if you do I can see you walking the league next season.
| Days like this one weren't supposed to happen to Rochdale. |

Remaining games on 13:46 - Apr 2 with 6641 views | YadHoDale | Whilst I hope Dale go up, Fleetwood have a reasonable run in. And it would be most amusing if Swindon went on a winning run to clinch second and therefore the Cods were a division higher than both PNE and the Lashers. :)

It's been exactly the season I expected, but not in the right manner. I assumed we'd struggle early doors, slowly improve, and make a late run for the top six. But we started ok, and even looked impressive in Autumn. But then Winnall was injured and we endured a nightmare winter, sacked a manager again, and are now on one of the best runs we've ever been on. So aye, we're about where I expected. Just didn't anticipate the manner of it. We're the only club Bristol City haven't beaten apparently. We were better than them on both occasions, can't see what it is that's got them 10 points clear or whatever. Swindon are definitely the side that impressed me most in both games and MK Dons tore us a new arsehole at Oakwell. Was impressed with Fleetwood too, and, Oldham (even in defeat) at Oakwell. Not so much the other week though. Crewe and Colchester the worst sides I've seen.

Didn't see the away game, but I believe we were better than Bristol City on both occasions but only came away with a point.

I see highlights of your games, and I remember thinking you'd been robbed at their place. And didn't you beat PNE 3-0 or summat at Spotland? Am I imagining it, or are you better against the bigger/better clubs?

We weren't exactly robbed at Ashton Gate. They scored early on, by which time we should have been one-up, but Vincenti hit the bar with a free-kick and then shot over the bar instead of into an open goal. We played well and created some decent chances, but at no point did I consider us having been robbed. That was Notts County at home!

Basically before the turn of the year we couldn't win at home but had a great away record. Whether this was linked to having the super quick Done and our counter attacking style away who knows? Since Christmas we've won at Bradford and Notts Co,drawn at Cov, the rest is grim with defeats at Scunthorpe,Walsall,Peterborough,Fleetwood,Bristol and Oldham. 6 from 7 wins at home has kept us in the play off hunt. We have a good recent record at Deepdale and could possibly be a bit of a bogey team for them - hope so!

Both Oldham/Barnsley could have alot to say about how the season pans out ... for us in particular!! Oldham to play Sheff Utd / Chesterfield. Barnsley to play us and Chesterfield. Only 5 points off 5th... Sheff Utd notorious bottlers!!!!! Our superior goal difference could also have a massive say in proceedings!!!! [Post edited 6 Apr 2015 23:07]

Remaining games on 09:35 - Apr 7 with 5588 views | aleanddale | 72 points for 6th place been saying 72 for a while. 6 games left we have 59. 13 more points required 4 wins and a draw leaves room for 1 defeat. VERY tough ask but have we got some form and some luck at bang on the right time?? I think we will fall just short - Doncaster Swindon MK and Barnsley all represent very difficult challenges.

Chesterfield have just won 4 in a row so I think it will be a big ask to carry on winning 5-6-7 in a row. Hope Im right. They play Barnsley on Sat who have just had an awful Easter and may have now blown their chances - certainly playing and beating the team currently in 6th spot is their last chance saloon. Just hope they put up a fight. I think the last play off place will be 70points.
