The Joey Barton is a thick c**t thread on 12:21 - Dec 16 by traininvain | I suppose if you ignore the two goals he gave away and the numerous misplaced passes you could argue that he did ok. |
How can you say he gave away 2 goals - he gave away a free-kick for the 2nd (not a goal) - he might have given the ball away for the 1st (not sure if he did or not) but that was not like a bad back-pass, Barkley still had to run 20 yard and then hit a deflected "screamer" into the net - bit harsh on Barton that one. The 3rd was a Green error, though he can be let off that cos of his brilliant performances.
The Joey Barton thread on 12:54 - Dec 16 with 1439 views | TopCat34 | Silly free-kick to give away for the second goal. It's always easy to knock Barton - who I do think offers something - when there were worse performances out there. [Post edited 16 Dec 2014 12:54]

In wasn't just the pass he misplaced for the first one, it was then the subsequent ill-judged lunge in on Barkley to try and retrieve the situation, that then left a huge gaping hole for him to run into to get the shot away.

I think you're being harsh on Barkley for that 1st goal - a bit lucky with the deflection - but a great goal. To lump all the blame on Barton is ridiculous.
The Joey Barton thread on 13:07 - Dec 16 with 1398 views | ShackletonR | I like Barton his commitment is never to question, never the edited word while he plays for QPR, and who calls him said word while he plays for QPR is the said word themselfs, Now go on the Chelsea boards and use the said word freely at John Terry.
| "Stan work hard, could score goals in the air, and was complete team player. He headed balls off the line, and he had so much skill, balance, finesse and amazing touch. His mobility, that electrifying burst of 30 yards was exciting to watch"...Don Shanks. |

Green was only trying to fit in with the rest of them OK, his kick was poor but there were enough people back to sort things out. His kick was intercepted by Dunne who lost it. Our marking when defending was woeful, we tended to just put people in the box and hope that would be enough, rather than having a look around and picking up Everton's players. Terrible. RFA
| "Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1." |

Splitting hairs. Barton was at fault for two goals last night.

"How can you say he gave away two goals." Simple really, because he did. Without him conceding possession to Barkley Barkley wouldn't have had the ball. Without him being a knob the free kick wouldn't have been given.

The Joey Barton is a thick c**t thread on 01:02 - Dec 16 by Northernr | Barton was actually very good when we were down to ten men against Burnley: rushing around, harrying, blocking, disrupting, working hard. That's his game. Where in earth he's got this idea that he's a ball playing midfielder from I do not know. Gave the ball away inside 45 seconds tonight and continued on that course for the next 90. Clearly believes he'd be in the England team without his poor behaviour. In actual fact, if he was Joe Bloggs, he wouldn't even get in the Fleetwood team playing like this. Liability. |
I remember many years ago the same happened with Phil Babb . Played brilliantly for Coventry and also Eire in the World Cup at USA '94 , just did the job he was supposed to do. Signed for Liverpool after the WC and suddenly decided he could play football, he couldn't. Instead of just doing what he was good at he started to go all fancy and it just wasn't him. Such players are both very rare and extremely costly, but there’s one Premier League player in this mould who is attainable and the mention of his name doesn’t bring the Arsenal accountants out in cold sweats either — QPR’s Joey Barton. The former Manchester City man is demonstrating his capabilities in this role at Loftus Road, while stats like a key pass average of 2.2 per outing suggests he is of sufficient technical proficiency to feature in the north Londoners midfield. - See more at: http://bwinbetting.com/leagues/premier-league/qpr-suits-arsenal-better-hamsik,65

The Joey Barton thread on 18:33 - Dec 16 with 1227 views | terryb | I am not a fan of our Joey & can't understand how he was given the job of "midfield destroyer" instead of Karl Henry. It seemed a strange game to give Kelvin a rest from. Yes, Barton has more natural ability but not to perform that role. Where I wil defend him though, is that, at least he never shirked away from the Evertonian who won every tackle on the pitch, although some were possible leg breakers on another day. He was certainly not helped by two of his midfield colleagues refusing to go anywhere near a challenge!
The Joey Barton thread on 19:31 - Dec 16 with 1210 views | NoDiddley | AS the OP Here's the point to the original title JB is a THICK C**T (edited by Clive to The Joey Barton thread). In a professional game of football there are fine lines between a win, loss or a draw. The tiniest of deflections or a poor refereeing decision can define what you get, What fcuks me off is when a captain decides to blatantly elbow someone in a dangerous position which immediately puts his side under threat & then fculing smile as if he never done it! Thus THE THICK C%%T bit Enuff said
The Joey Barton thread on 20:48 - Dec 16 with 1187 views | themodfather | barton has to stop losing the ball cheaply, it's killing us and no one is rollicking him. is he chasing back, winning tackles and leading?? he looks disinterested imo. mutch has to do more too.
