I must say i thought they deserved to go out. The sending off was harsh, but by the same token Lovren was lucky to stay on the field. Good goal by the busted flush, who apart from that was… er…. busted.

The manager will deserve all the opprobrium he gets. Allen instead of Coutinho? Madness.

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

Thought they were poor. The sending off was bang on, he glanced back, saw the man and flicked out. right in front of the ref. Spot on red. Gerrard is a busted. Fair play to BASIL thought they bossed it throughout.

Lets be honest. The money Liverpool have spent and supposedly playing in one of the best league's in europe and they can't beat a swiss team at home.

I think the manager is on borrowed time, to be honest. I can't see them winning the Europa League either - there are plenty of teams in it who are better than they are. Everton, for one.

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

You just can't resist having a dig can you?
Exactly what have Gerrard or Lampard for that matter done to upset you?
Yet the tvvats who are ruining your football club have done a good deal which SHOULD have upset you, but they can do no wrong in your eyes.
You're a strange one.

Rusty

I think Gerrard, like Liverpool, is vastly over-rated. I've never cared for Lampard since his earlier indiscretions, and his more mawkish public behaviour didn't sit well with me either.

These are all just opinions, and last time I looked I was allowed to hold them and to express them.

And if you think the Oystons can "do no wrong in my eyes", you haven't been reading what I write as carefully as you should.

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

Of course you're allowed to hold opinions.
It's just that I find your opinions a bit strange.
But then again you're probably one of those people who likes to swim against the tide, just to remain in the public eye.
Keeps your 'iconic' status intact.
Each to their own.

"Lampard's earlier indiscretions". What are you talking about? I can recall he was part of the group of tipsy footballers at Heathrow Airport taking the mick out of Americans in the hours following 9/11. Insensitive and rude, but that was 13 years ago and he has apologised repeatedly for that. What else has he done that upsets you, or is that it?

Edit to talk about the football: Liverpool did not come out blazing for the win. Most unlike the old and famous teams. But without a decent forward available at present they are limited. But Rogers' motivational skills seem to be lacking.

Well considering some of your opinions on football Robbie, 'grinning baboon' and 'compelling' are two which spring to mind, it could well be you that's overrated and a busted flush.
Bearing your previous in mind, and the fact you're talking about two excellent model professionals who have had long and successful careers, I'll take your opinion with a pinch of salt.

I saw a good (if old) joke on the BBC site today :

Q : How many Liverpool fans does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: None - they just sit around in the dark talking about how great the old lightbulb used to be.

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

I think Gerrard, like Liverpool, is vastly over-rated.

So a whole host of top managers at club and international level, including Jose Mourinho (who tried to buy him twice) are wrong about Gerrard, but our very own busted flush of an icon is right.
Like I said, he's a strange one.

I do like Liverpool, but this Brendon Rogers , every time I see him on T.V he reminds me of David Brent out of The Office, the guy seems a tad strange to me, but that's just my opinion

I'm with you there Albert. As much as I like Liverpool as a football club and so enjoyed the way they played last season, I just can't take to Rodgers. Just something about the guy I don't like. I don't hate him, but I just can't warm to him.
Jane, that bit with the envelope was a bit strange, but apparently it's something he picked up off Alex Ferguson.
Did you notice in the same series, when the cameras went to Rodger's house, he had a huge self portrait of himself hanging on the wall.
That tells me there's something not quite right about him.

it didn't last long with his wife once he got Liverpool job. Lost weight, got his teeth fixed, visited the tanning salon and got himself a younger partner.

Thats the way the PL is-full on exposure and pressure from the first day you step into it.
Nothing like the old days of say Shankly and co and wholly different game from what it was.

Ruined btw in 1992 when Sky entered the building
