He looked rusty and was the wrong choice for impact and brought in to late to get into the game. The TV for him mixed up with Gomis again which was funny the first time but it's getting a bit cringe worthy now.

Innit. People can't deal with facts on here. He made a great run and then messed the chance up but he caused mayhem within a few minutes just as he often does. Last yr we were bringing on N'Gog or Vazquez. This year it's Gomis or Emnes.....this is partly why we have improved. |  | | |

I gotta say, why some feel they need to slag off a player who is given just 9 mins to impress is beyond me!
He came on in the 84th minute i think, hardly any time to warm up his body let alone make a massive difference, unless people were expecting him to score like he did against Everton of course, which was a bit of luck truth be told .
The subs were truely mad anyway, Dyer was getting no joy and was ready to go after 60 mins, Gomis should have come on up front with Wilf slotting into the hole to hold it up, thus giving us two bigger men to aim for and play to .
All opinions of course and perhaps Garry was thinking that we had enough on the field anyway, if that was the case then why change anything at all? all a bit mad there for me.
Hope we start using our bench though, montero and gomis will start losing their edge sat on their ar£s es all the time ! |  | | |

Even though it was only 8 minutes that was probably the worst performance I have ever seen from a professional footballer, and I've seen the likes of Ali Dia, Bebe, and Xisco.
Where do I even start? He totally ruined a brilliant pass from Bony when he was clear on goal, electing not to cut in the middle but instead inexplicably brought the ball out wide to take a weak shot from an impossible angle.
Then that last touch in the 18 when he ruined our last chance of the game....wow. Just wow.
I have no idea why everyone was so happy when we signed him. I've been saying forever that he's crap. The only thing he does is play poorly and take playing time away from Gomis. [Post edited 4 Oct 2014 18:02]

Two points. Firstly, as others have pointed out, the substitutions were made too late in the match. Montero hardly had a kick. Secondly, Emnes has not got a left foot. There again he's not the only one in the team.
