A very concerning debut indeed.

He constantly dived in to his man everytime the player he was watching received the ball to feet, most often conceding a foul or being taken out of play with a simple 1 - 2.

Whenever he faced an aerial duel he lost most of those too, even when he did win them they went straight out for throws not much further than where he was standing.

I hope it's just a bit of rust but I dread to think what taller, stronger and more intelligent strikers will do to him because their big lump up front tonight gave him hell.

Bartley did okay by the way, as did Jazz and Dwight.

You were watching the wrong Fernandez, he was cool all evening, Man Utd missed out on a very good and reasonably priced World Cup defender.

Watching Johnny Evans tonight they would do better with Dennis Lawrence than a WC Argentinian defender.

Don't agree. Thought he played well. Very composed and classy. Another match where we have slipped up I the past. A good team performance where we did not get out of third gear. A mention for Bartley, Carroll, Jeff and Nathan are also in order. The only shame is we did not take more of our chances.

Yet, no doubt his beloved Man Utd are builidng for the future, so no cause for concern there.

Looked decent. Obviously needs to get up to speed with the game over here but a tidy debut all in all.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

DYSS in being negative shocker

My lad is fifteen, an ex swans player who sits behind us said to him on the way out 'That Fernandez will do things in games not everyone will see, but they will be valuable things' He looked superb at times to me. Excellent positioning.

You've got to be kidding.I and everyone around me thought he had a really good game.Very cool on the ball and a real presence at the back.Bartley and him done a good job tonight.

How is it that:

- I didn't go to the game
- I didn't watch a stream
- I didn't listen to a radio commentary
- I've not been following twitter tonight
- I've only read the last 3 pages of the official match day thread

And yet I'm still 100% confident that this is a piss-poor attempt at a wind up by DYSS? He is definitely losing his touch.

I would question our complete lack of planning and preparation regarding their long throws and free kicks which we failed to clear first time on most occasions, but I feel that my original post is enough 'negativity' for some people tonight. I'll bring it up another time.

Thought he was very assured and looked cool and confident, cleared virtually every long ball by heading confidently into touch or to a colleague.

He started slowly as you would expect, but got better as the game went on. Did get out muscled a few times by Revell however.

Again I nought we handled them very well with a special mention for Bartley. A couple of shaky moments at the end but I think that was more down to us missing our chances and a bit of tension creeping in. I agree with BBC Wales for once. We 'eased past them'.
