Some bookmakers have suspended betting on who will be the next Saints manager with Ronald Koeman starting to be their choice for the hot seat.
The bookmakers seem to think that an appointment is imminent at St Mary's judging by their reaction the last few days, Ronald Koeman is now the odds on favourite with 8/11 the best price you can get.
Second in line is strangely Sean Dyche with odds between 4-8/1 and then David Moyes and Christian Gross the only other two names under 10/1, Murat Yakin at around 12/1 is now a long shot as are the likes of Eddie Howe and Malky Mackay at one time real contenders in the bookies eyes.
Certainly Koeman would fit the bill in the eyes of most Saints fans, till young enough to have ambition and drive, yet experienced enough to know how to handle a tough squad as well as a big enough name not only to persuade players that the club is still going places and attract the right quality of player into St Mary's with what will be a big transfer kitty.
The fact that Koeman is interested in coming to St Mary's should be no surprise, even with the expected exodus, Saints still have a decent squad and the new man will have a big transfer kitty to strengthen it, also due to the fact that Pochettino has taken all his mates, sorry fellow coaches with him, the new man will have the opportunity to bring in his own men and to do things his way.
Saints fans might find it hard to see good at the moment, but the lub is still an attractive proposition and will have a starting position a lot stronger than at last half the Premier league next season.
