Nigel Miller will be the man in charge of yet another Lancashire derby match against Morecambe on Saturday.
The County Durham official is one of the most recognisable referees in the Football League and tends to pop up on live TV on a regular basis and has even taken charge of play-off matches since joining the league list in 2003.
He also has received plenty of appointments at Championship level in the past, including four already this season, as well as the Capital One Cup third round tie between Bradford and Burton.
Remarkably, Mr Miller’s ten games so far this term have yielded 41 goals, with Blackpool v Ipswich (6-0), Stoke v Swindon (3-4), Sheffield United v Bournemouth (5-3) and Fleetwood v Port Vale (2-5) the most prolific.
Nigel has refereed Dale on 11 previous occasions, the most recent of which was our 2-0 home defeat by Tranmere in March.
