| Forum Thread | Russell Martin goes but results wise nothing changes at 17:29 26 Dec 2024
He didn’t help himself with bizarre team selections, tactics and substitutions but really, was it all his fault ? Another game passes without us adding to the previous eleven goals scored. Honestly, how is it humanly possible to score only eleven goals during eighteen matches ? Sports Republic’s decision to extend Armstrong’s contract by three years must rank as one of the most ridiculous decisions made in the history of the club. He couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo last time we were in the Premiership for pity sake. Their recruitment policy for strikers ( if indeed they ever had one ) during the summer has proved to be an absolute disaster.Championship and Premiership cast off players asked to play at the highest level with utterly predictable outcomes. Blame Russel Martin by all means but please don’t let that cloud your judgement of the total bunch of incompetent chancers who currently own and run our club. [Post edited 26 Dec 17:34]

| Forum Thread | Thames Water management rewarded for failure yet again. at 17:11 10 Dec 2024
According to the B B C the company has :- 1, £16 Billion pounds of debt. 2, Has asked the water regulator to be allowed to increase consumers bills by 59% over 5 years. 3, Their record recently on allowing effluent to be pumped into waterways is worse than ever. Yet their executives have just received £770,000 in bonus payments on top of their salaries. Why did the Conservative Government allow this to happen over 14 years and equally importantly why are the current Labour Government allowing any sort of bonuses whatsoever to be paid ? | Forum Thread | F A Cup draw to be restaged after Man Utd fail to get home draw. at 19:35 2 Dec 2024
After the B B C’s utterly cringe worthy 15 minute love in with all things Manchester Utd this evening, officials of the club have complained that a mistake was made and the B B C have decided to rerun the whole programme tomorrow. |
| Forum Thread | Is the suggested Liverpool Cup boycott having an effect ? at 09:53 14 Nov 2024
As a season ticket holder I received an email yesterday suggesting I could purchase additional tickets for the fixture. I’m not attending in any event due to personal reasons. Out of interest I checked availability on the club’s website. There are literally thousands of tickets unsold throughout the stadium with nearly every area having massive availability.. I appreciate that the fixture is next months but was genuinely surprised at the lack of take up so far. |
| Forum Thread | After today all over bar the shouting, but 10 reasons to be cheerful. at 17:19 9 Nov 2024
1. Relegation all but assured, so we can now prepare early for The Championship next August. 2. Championship ticket prices won’t go up and may well come down. 3. More games to watch in The Championship. 4. No V A R in The Championship. 5. Sports Republic don’t need to waste any more money in the January window because we already have a Championship team. 6. Sports Republic can sell our few decent players to help balance the books. 7. Sports Republic can look forward to their second set of parachute payments in just three seasons. 8. In The Championship we may well win more than the odd one game in eleven.. 9. Fair chance of a couple of local derbies. 10. I can’t think of anything else. An all round win situation for both us fans and Sports Republic, what’s not to like ? [Post edited 9 Nov 18:36]
