| News Comment | Happy Birthday Mike Channon at 19:41:39
Happy Birthday Mike Channon, 73 and still full of life. Memory is fading but pretty sure it was his 16th birthday, and maybe his debut?, when I saw him smash it in off the bar from 25 yards for the reserves v Bristol Rovers. I must have been 11 or 12 at the time. He always was and still is a hero in my eyes and a true Saints legend. Enjoy your day sir. â¤ï¸ |
| News Comment | Ex Saints Keeper Campbell Forsyth Passes Away. at 10:46:19
He was quite a capture for Saints when he signed. Was stood yards from Grumpy when he broke his leg v Liverpool. Think we won 2-1 with Terry Paine scoring a rare header. It sadly finished his career. That goal scored by Shilton must have bounced on the only firm patch of that quagmire of a pitch. Campbell was well off his line as the ball bounced over his head. I remember a TV general knowledge panel game that he appeared on with other Saints players. His question was about the name of the ship that sailed from Southampton and struck an iceberg. Mauretania was his answer. "No" I shouted at the telly. Sad to hear about the passing of Campbell Forsyth. RIP |

In today's market, £8 million for a PL footballer is an absolute steal. Perhaps the clause could have contained a sub clause along the lines of "subject to renegotiation in the event of promotion"? Have Saints been mugged again ? |
| News Comment | Saints At Norwich City The Verdict at 12:27:37
Obafemi involved in the first and third goals, I don't agree that he was poor and definitely doesn't need to go out on loan. He is strong, quick and real handful up front. He's scored some good goals too. Valery made a couple of errors but he wasn't alone. This was a good Saints performance. |

Lots of negative thoughts expressed which are hard to disagree with. Something positive, which nobody has mentioned as it understandably gets lost in the general gloom of a poor performance and abject capitulation, was Michael Obafemi's goal. That was a beautiful finish. |

Have noticed that they dont hire too many black players either. Could this be a coincidence? |
