If he told you that, you mustn't have much time left.

Is he an angel or a devil?

After last night's entertainment, the Superbowl will feature two exciting teams which will be great for neutrals. The resilient but sometimes explosive KC Chiefs are going for an unprecedented three titles in a row, while standing in their way are the Eagles who absolutely destroyed Washington yesterday with their running game. Bring it on.

Appliance Repairs - Who Bothers these days?

I'm part of a generation who frequents shoe-repair shops to keep a good pair of shoes in use. I'm reminded of this observation by Terry Pratchett

Just as an update, it is being reported that 715,000 homes are without power this morning in ROI. To put that in context, there are 2.1m homes in the country.

I'm reminded of that line from Hill Street Blues, let's be careful out there!

Game on.

So let me get this straight.

We entered the top half of the league for the first time in two years on Saturday, now we are promotion contenders?

What I'd like to see, is the team breaking the 50 points barrier and for once not to automatically and collectively think about where they want to go on holidays this summer. Break through to 60 points in a blitzkrieg-type manner with about 6 games to go and then we'll think about our chances of making the play-offs.

Yep, it's going to be wild. Winds of 75mph (not gusts, the underlying windspeed) are being forecast for the West of Ireland, where a Red Weather Warning event has already been called.

Time to secure the trampolines again.

I watched the last 20 mins or so of this evening's match, when Everton looked to hold onto their 3-0 lead. They allowed Spurs enjoy a lot of possession, but didn't allow them many chances to score. What really surprised me was watching when Everton did have possession, that their midfielders found an awful lot of space between the Spurs midfielder and defence. That shouldn't happen at any level in professional football.

The new owners aren't being penalised. The club is. There is a difference.

Read the article once again. Remember the name of the Russian club involved. Then look up Chris Samba's transfer history from around the same time as Chelsea's dealings with that club.

Stoke may be in a bit of bother from now until the end of the season. Tom Cannon, their top scorer, was on loan from Leicester and has just been recalled by them! Ouch....

Fixture congestion? Those Premiership softies don't know they're born!

Ahh remember not so long ago that Rotherham 'ad to play 6 league matches between 10th and 24th April 2021. And the only team they beat during that period was us!

Suppose a club has the resources to qualify for Europe, then still be involved in European competition post Christmas. Then I think it highly likely that the club would be big enough to put out two separate and competitive sides midweek to cope with fixture congestion involving a European match and any domestic cup replay.

Take a step back from the edge and take a deep breath. The gravity pull of Third Round exits is stronger than you think. It's the force that helps keep us grounded as QPR fans. As Marti keeps saying, it's important to stay humble.

I note A Begovic was on the bench for Everton tonight. I thought he had retired!
