Depends if Varane is fit enough to start but if not then I'd definitely stick with Colback and Edwards. I'd also much rather have Morgan starting at 10 to add more energy/physicality. It's Stoke away. |

Good question - but given he's been there all season then either something has just clicked or he's really benefitted from their coaching. Either way assuming he comes back, I hope he's not a League One version of Mike Sheron. |

Play with the same intensity as the Leeds game, and we have half a chance. |

Well no I was thinking of the song with the name of the football club, which just gets repeated ad infinitum. Ivor Novello-worthy. |

Subsidised?? Didn't you hear our chancellor say the other day, there's no magic money tree? Well except for the stuff our dear leaders deem important like wars, etc. |

Haha well indeed - and when I say "take us forward" then of course I ask myself what exactly that means (as someone who is quite happy with the goat rodeo of the Championship and not really bothered about promotion to the Prem, even though that's what we should aspire to, etc.) I suppose it's incremental improvements on each season, and maybe we still can finish better than last season. We shall see... Of course let alone the manager it all depends on the personnel. I admire Cifuentes wanting to play a more attacking expansive game (and that is him, rather than Nourry, I think? Or both of them?) but with the players we have it's just not possible in the Championship. When he's opted to be more pragmatic, have an extra piano pusher rather than a piano player, made ourselves hard to beat, then inevitably we've won more often (and it's not been bad football either). And to be fair also this season he's not had much luck with injuries. But as soon as he's ditched the pragmatic approach then results have tanked, just when we were well placed to push on and maybe secure a top half finish. So I find that frustrating - would a Chris Hughton equivalent do better with the squad available? I don't know. So he's been great for the club, he's done an amazing job all things considered, I'm sure I'll miss him whenever he does go. And I agree I dread to think who his successor would be and whether they can actually do better. Probably another trendy Euro coach, but I think there is a lot to be said for choosing a manager who already has Championship experience. |

Exactly - and while he has been great for us and done a good job in difficult circumstances, I don't think he's the man to take us forward in this division. |

If we play with the same intensity as we did against Leeds then we have a chance. Sadly I'm not expecting it though. |

Bit tricky when they only have one song (with very complicated lyrics...) |

Well I've already written off the Stoke game because a) it's away and b) we're always terrible first game back after an international break. Hope we can something from the two games after that. |

Yeah some sympathy for Critchley who was handed a fairly toxic dressing room post-Beale; but I don't think we've missed that much more from him. He's doing an OK job at Hearts, has pulled them up the table after a terrible start to the season. But nothing really earth shattering. |

Ah I need to watch The Filth and The Fury documentary again, really enjoyed that. Was very clear how much they hated McLaren as they included audio of his interviews but placed that alongside video of a bloke in an armchair wearing an inflatable gimp mask |

Ooh cheers I'll take a look at that. Even as a very young kid going around in my mum's car with the radio locked on Capital (back when it was good) I remember hearing Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick and it was like nothing else, I was mesmerised by it. Still one of my favourite tunes. |

Yeah agreed with that - no matter how bad things have been I look back at the last 15 years, in that time I've seen my team raise the Championship trophy at Loftus Road and win a play off final at Wembley in probably the most dramatic fashion possible. How many other clubs have done that? So of course I want my team to do better, to improve each season. And yes I know we should aspire to promotion, to the Premier League. But I'm really not bothered, it's always about the journey rather than actual getting there, I bet Ipswich fans can't wait for this season to be over! I'll always be a QPR fan, I'll always want my team to win. But given the recent success we've enjoyed, realistically I don't think I can expect much more. |

Oh come on Hunter can't we just enjoy the 'meh' for now and not have to think about the personnel cliff-drop we face this summer?? I've really not thought about Marti leaving although I know it's been mentioned on here; just not sure where he would go; either another Championship club or potentially another club in Europe. And cheers for the article Dorse, enjoyed that! |
