Very pleased with this- I think a fully-fit Rodney is as close to a 25 goal striker as we'd be able to sign. Ironically, I thought one of his best games was when he played upfront on his own after Mitchell had been sent off, but I get the impression from a few of McNulty's comments that Rodney would rather play in a front 2. |

Programme of the Year for the National League. Excellent work as always. đź‘Ź |

Presume McNulty spoke to the referee to clarify his reasoning behind sending him off ahead of the referee submitting his post match report.Having spoken to the referee and looked at various camera angles, can only assume he it will get overturned. FWIW I’m still convinced it wasn’t worthy of any card. |

I was surprised we managed to keep him last summer, as I assume for financial reasons all of our players were effectively up for free transfer assuming someone would take over their contracts. This season has for obvious reasons not quite gone to plan for him and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sign a new contract, albeit with a fairly low release clause if he was to end up on 15 goals by January. He seems settled in Manchester too which may work in our favour, but as others have said I presume a considerable wage drop would be needed. |

Whilst Brooks’ distribution was poor yesterday- and isn’t anywhere near the standard of Moulden’s- I thought his slow release in the build up to their first was completely down to Jez. Brooks had the ball in his hands and spotted Jez- who seemed neither alert to the potential of a counter attack or interested. Jez simply did a light jog with his back to the keeper similar to what Wayne Evans would do at times when getting back into position and definitely not looking to receive or run onto the ball. Mentioned it briefly yesterday and I think it would be unfair to compare Jez’s work with the ball compared to Hayes as we’ve arguably got the best winger in the league. However his work off the ball in terms of showing for it and making runs for players to pass to was absolutely nowhere near good enough. I would be very surprised if he features on Tuesday. |

Jez needs to up his game or come off. Defence are getting stick for not passing it forward quick enough but to say he’s looking disinterested is an understatement. Genuinely think he has 0 idea with what to do unless the ball is at his feet (and even with that he’s been poor.) |

Poorest performance I think we’ve had under McNulty. Barnet dragged us into their style of play for most of it and absolutely schooled us in how to do it. |

Great point and shows how good we are when we have virtually a full strength squad to choose from. Credit to McNulty and the players in what has no doubt been a very tough week off the pitch. |

Agreed. Nobody at the time was demanding for the board to pay transfer fees for players- we never have. We could also highlight the signing of several players the following summer, on significant wages and with no apparent wage cuts in the case of relegation, as absolutely gross mismanagement. |
| Forum Reply | Mane having trials at Southampton at 15:06 20 Feb 2024
Agreed. If Mane was to go, then off the top of my head we've had players join Norwich, Brentford and Southampton from our Youth Academy within the last year. Nevett is as good a defender as I can remember us bringing through and others have looked decent in cameos with the first team. Either the academy has gone through a purple patch over the last 12 months or more likely, we are finally seeing the club geared towards developing them right up until the First Team. For all (fair) criticisms of McNulty over the last few weeks, he's brought a clear pathway back from the Youth team to the First team. It is absolutely criminal that this was allowed to disappear under Stockdale and Bentley and even more criminal that we're in a position where it looks like this great asset is effectively being prepared to be removed completely. |

We were very poor today and as others have said we were too slow building in possession. In fairness though I’d argue that probably 5 or so of our players who make us quicker have either left, are injured or in the process of coming back: Moulden- capable of 60/70 yard passes Nevett- best defender at playing the ball forward Hayes- best player for being direct with the ball Clayton- best midfielder for passing forwards Mitchell- player who allows us to go most direct Hopefully the new signings and a few players returning will see performances improve considerably. |

Brilliant news- we attack so much quicker with him in the side. A fully-fit squad is good enough for the Play-offs IMO- whether we will have that luxury in time to get there is another question. Well done to all who made it happen. |

Absolute excuse culture seems to have manifested. In footballing terms it compares to one of Bentley’s or Stockdale’s interviews. |
| Forum Reply | Moulden re called at 13:58 17 Jan 2024
Bentley dropping O'Donnell for him after a very rare clean sheet against Bradford last season will go down as one of the worst pieces of management I can remember. |
| Forum Reply | Louie Mould-gone at 13:41 17 Jan 2024
Agree with this. The writing was pretty much on the wall following the interview from a few weeks back where he mentioned League clubs being interested in him. Given his contract status at the end of the season, it makes sense for him to play as high up as possible in the hope of showing Wolves how much he's progressed and also any prospective club for the summer. I also hope we go for a younger keeper from the higher leagues. Whilst it's not ideal that we're in the National League and skint, I'm sure the development Moulden will alert clubs to the role we can play in improving players, whilst also improving our team. Exactly the model we have been working towards. |

Presume MRKT draws a shortlist of players based on data and statistics whilst it’s up to McNulty and the coaches to get references of the player’s character. |

I remember watching Conway at Kidderminster away where he started at left wing and the instruction seemed to be for him to use his pace and run in behind the defence. EEL amongst others, gestured for him to do this but I think he did it once (start of the second half) all game. Was unsurprising that he only featured sparsely after that. |
