Thread | Abuse in modern football

After the news today that Stuart Kettlewell has resigned at Motherwell in Scotland in part because fan abuse was making his family not want to turn up at games, ashby deleting his social media as a closer to home example, even some disagreements on this forum (becoming a bit more spirited than anyone means to, do people think there’s a real culture problem now in modern football?
Is it just a weaker generation? Is it social media/coked up tourists/the immense amounts of money and expectations in the modern game? Will it get better, could it get worse? Regular and non-regular posters opinions invited. |

Disappointed but not too bothered. Three game week, tired players (although smyth must have discovered nuclear fusion the way he runs and runs). Best news is Ilias’ extension. Pick up, dust off, move on. |

Dunne is truly exceptional every time he steps ok the field now. If he’d had a fight with a landmine and come off worse i’d still struggle to justify taking him out the starting lineup |

If you can’t keep a shot out then you deserve to lose. A shame, thought we had a real fighting chance from that first half.
Seen nothing of Madsen all game. Take the positive that Varane opened his balance sheet and did so impressively and that Kolli can take chances where Sinclair failed to in his place. |
