| Forum Reply | Trust chair steps down. at 07:24 25 Sep 2024
Logged on this morning to see reaction to last nights win and am gutted to read this. George did a great job holding things together when it looked like we were going down the pan earlier this year. Very big boots to fill, at a time when the new owners and board still have a lot to do to turn the club around. We desperately need a strong trust chair to represent the fans to the board. It seems too attritional at the moment away travel, reserved stickers, fan consultation meetings all hard work dealing with the people currently running the club. Where do you want your statue George? |

Interesting article in today’s Times sport section on Russell Martins refusal to compromise on possession based football. In the Prem everyone is obviously prepared with comprehensive data on the opposition. And are being found out despite their centre halves having the most successful passes in the league. The similarities are clear. |

Same as last season. Press us high, mark up the second ball, wait for us to lose the ball - score from the bits and pieces. |

The Times report yesterdays Liverpool defeat, reminded me of the old Bob Paisley quote: “It’s not about a long ball a short ball” “But the right ball”. Guile and good decision making will become more important when we face organised sides who have done their homework. We just need the right balance in midfield and to me, we need to settle on a consistent selection in the core of the team. |

Poor old Andy will struggle without vision and leadership from his board. As we’ve been told the new owners aren’t running the club, so expecting the old guard to change their ways? It isn’t going to happen. We were also told over the last couple of years that this that and the other couldn’t be done, without investment - the impression I got from you, from your pre-match conversation ages ago with the then chairman, now the current Co-chairman - is that he knows best, it’s his way or no way. I admire your tenacity and continuing to shine a light on the reality of what’s going on, I’ve got tired of it, accepted that change will take time. But I do think that there’s no time like the present and fundamentally we need to Ogdens to start running the club as soon as possible. Being a silent partner will not work. The trust seem to be well placed to be a lever for fans, so that seems to be the best way to get things to change by putting these sorts of issue in front of Cameron. |

At another place, where things are planned carefully and thought out meticulously- what you suggest for today might happen. But I think you’ll be disappointed. Today is about SPO attending a game, with generations of his family in tow, part of what will hopefully be a long association with the club. Let’s just celebrate that and make him welcome. And let’s do the other stuff at some point, Christmas would be a great time to thank everyone who’s done the heavy lift over the last three years. |

A good win, gradually got better as the second half went on and Dale players celebrated the win enthusiastically. Well done. |

In fairness Yokel not much better. But they’re bringing a couple of attacking subs on…65 mins. |

Be interesting to know from Dale fans in the ground if the long range header went in. |
