Well Norwich are not in the top 11 now as things stand. I will take your point but they are now 12th and we haven't beaten any of the current 11 sides above them which is fact. Obviously teams in the middle flit between the bottom half and top half so the picture changes. |

Agreed we have had good draws against teams at the top but on the other side of the coin we lost easily at home to Hull, who then went 10 games without a win, lost at home to Portsmouth and drew with Plymouth, two clubs who have been useless away from home. I don't trust us to win the return matches with the teams below us which is why I think we will need to beat some of the play off contenders. That might be difficult if we keep on having 25% possession and one shot at goal against top half sides. |

So far we haven't beaten any of the teams in the top 11 and may well need to change that statistic in the second half of the season. Hull and Cardiff managed to see out their games today which we didn't. The results elsewhere show it is too early to think we are safe. Looks like Oxford have the new manager bounce with 6 points from two home games so the picture changes when they looked to be in free fall before Christmas. This is one division you can never relax in. |

Such is modern football we conceded 8 minutes from time. Not like the good old days where it would have been a last minute leveller. It would have been worse if Norwich scored the goal in the 96th minute. The frustration is we rarely win at Carrow Road so we were close to doing it but we were lucky with the own goal in first half stoppage time and didn't do enough to merit the win. I am happy enough with the point with that defence. Swansea have conceded a daft goal against Luton poncing about in defence. It is the scourge of football today playing out from the back and conceding stupid goals. The win over Preston put us above them but two games later we trail them by 3 points. How quickly the table can change so the longer we go without Cook and Morrison is troubling. |

There were only two away wins in both the Championship and Premier League, and one of those was Fulham winning at Chelsea on Boxing Day, so hardly going out of their way in terms of travel. It seems most away sides didn't fancy it on Thursday and weren't up for the games. The R's, Plymouth and Wednesday had terrible first half's as if they hadn't turned up. Rather than playing Oxford a few weeks ago, it would have made more sense if we played Oxford on Thursday which is only about 63 miles from Paddington. Plymouth should have been given Bristol City rather than going to Coventry but what do I know? [Post edited 28 Dec 2024 19:41]

I suppose this is why clubs want these type of managers to make them high profile in the media to get more publicity hence why Birmingham got shot of Eustace for Rooney. Sky usually start the round up from the top down in the Championship but a week or so ago they started with Coventry instead of Sheffield Utd/Leeds. |

It is the injuries to key players that could drag us towards the relegation zone again which is the main concern. We have just dropped another place with Derby beating West Brom. 20 points out of 27 at home for them now. |

How is it an overreaction when we haven't won on this date away for 56 years? There are many on here who have never experienced a QPR away win on Boxing Day in their lifetime so it's a bit crass to say we loved the result. The display today reminds me of the Redknapp comment about bonus away games in the Premier League. Today's performance was even worse than last year's at Millwall. Wednesday were three down at half time to Boro and fought back to draw where we barely had a shot all game. The fans who went today deserve better. |

Swansea get their first win on Boxing Day since their last win on Boxing Day 2-0 against us naturally. To go since 1967 without an away win on Boxing day is a damn fine achievement by us. It makes you wonder if our training program involves the players sitting at home Christmas Day stuffing their faces. So predictable that everyone we play away on this date expect to have your Christmas spoilt. We have recently got away with poor starts but not today and it is a reminder that we are not safe from the drop. |

Let's not get carried away as still a lot of games to be played, we are nowhere near safety yet. Just like England's cricket team where batting collapses are never very far away, another QPR six game losing streak is also never far away. I have seen enough in recent years to warn me that another dead end is out there waiting to trip us up. |

Hope so as don't want to lose Cook for months but these injuries keep hampering us. Spoilt a good day today as I have been waiting over two years for us to win three in a row at home. Feels longer in truth... |

We couldn't beat either Pompey or Coventry at home. Looks like Portsmouth are improving with 3-0 and 4-1 home wins in last two The one aberration in their last 6 matches was the dismal display at Derby. Getting more difficult to predict who will drop. |

Rather unfortunate for the manager as Oxford have got 16 of their 18 points at home which is a better home record than we have. It seems strange to sack him after losing at home to Sheffield Wednesday. If the Oxford board bothered to look they would have noted the Owls have now won five of their last six away league games, the only blemish being a 1-0 derby defeat to the Blades. I am a bit aggravated that Wednesday have kicked on from their relegation struggles of last season while we are still in the relegation mix. |

I hate these 1230 kick offs we always look half asleep in the first half. Currently no wins this season for any lunchtime game. If Sky want to relegate us next season they should show all our matches live at 1230 as we never seem to play well in early kick offs. My Leeds mate texted me to say their game at Preston was drab. I don't think players like early games as not psyched up enough with less time to prepare. Not only are Sky wrecking things for those who travel to games at silly hours but they are serving up dire tv spectacles with early games. |

I didn't understand Marti after the game talking about 6 minutes added to the first half (as well as 9 to second half) and the Oxford manager claiming they played well in the first half. I can only conclude that both managers fell asleep in that appalling first period and dreamt it all up. |

By playing on the front foot taking the game to a poor side has seen Derby rewarded. This is how we should have gone after Oxford in the first half instead of the slops we served up wasting a half. |
