As the article discusses, the footballing due diligence asks many other questions other than just looking at the financial position of a club, such as what is the age profile of the squad? What is the club’s track record of recruitment and talent development? How many players are on short-term contracts? And, among plenty of other topics, what is the future market value of each player in the squad?
People involved in the game point to two driving factors:
1- fast-rising income at Premier League clubs
2- better cost control.
That means wider profit margins and safer investments, going some way to explain why Manchester United’s New York-listed shares have risen almost a fifth this year, while the S&P 500 has been flat.
The financial gains from entering the Premier League provide a stark indication of its pull. During 2013/14, Crystal Palace’s first season back in the Premier League, players’ wages at the south London club more than doubled. Guidolin is renowned as a studious, hyper-tactical mind who favours an attack-minded approach. He’s never been rigid to one single system and has overhauled his entire formation mid-season in the past. His stress may have been linked to this tendency to overanalyse. Additionally, he possesses the vital skill of being able to adapt the system to the players at his disposal.
The former midfielder isn't averse to using three at the back, which he went into detail on after spending four days as a guest of Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich’s training ground last year: “I was pleased to discuss [Arturo] Vidal operating behind [Mario] Götze in a 3-6-1 system [with Pep]. That formation is the direction that the great teams are favouring with three defenders and only one pure centre-back. There are then many players making the midfield dense and lacking points of reference.”

Ki is a good player but for some reason this season he's not played to the best of his ability.
May be he's not happy with being in South Wales or there are other issues outside of the game which is affecting his game, either way he's not had a great season.

So Francesco Guidolin, remains in a London hospital being treated for a chest infection.
Let's hope he's on the mend and wish him a speedy recovery!
FairPlay to Curtis and the team, they are doing a fantastic job in his absence!!!! Superb job.
A crucial win over our relegation rivals today has given us a little breathing space, well done to SCFC!
