Tovide - will he stay or will he go? 18:48 - Jan 25 with 601 views | MarkyMark47 | According to the physio in today's programme, Tovide is not yet ready for grass based rehab on his hamstrings. That must presumably weigh against a move in January?

Tovide - will he stay or will he go? on 10:14 - Jan 26 with 449 views | wessex_exile | Much as I’d love him to stay, would it be worth watching him leave for nothing in the summer? Probably if his involvement propels us into the playoffs-offs. Probably not if this season turns out to be one of stabilisation ready for a proper promotion push next season. Edit: actually maybe not leaving for free in the summer, if Wikipedia is correct in stating we have an option of another year on his current contract. [Post edited 26 Jan 10:39]

I think that must be including the additional one year option. Graeson’s ColUData website says it expires summer 2025. I’m not certain how those work - can a player refuse the additional year, or do they have no choice?

Tovide - will he stay or will he go? on 13:36 - Jan 26 with 362 views | MarkyMark47 | As with any contract, it depends. Apparently Unilateral Extension Clauses are common, especially with younger players in the lower leagues. They are usually in favour of the club, which can then decide to extend the contract without needing the agreement of the player.

Extending the contract usually means the club think they can get more money 💰 before the running out of the full contract were after that the player can leave eg Chilvers, but a smaller fee is gained ( development fee ). The player becomes a free agent on conclusion and presume can gain a higher signing on fee depending on offers .
