Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread 12:26 - Dec 31 with 25504 views | CamberleyR | Here goes, second crack. Hopefully our much improved home form continues and we can make it four on the spin. I'll go for a tight 2-1 win with Kolli who at home is becoming a bit of a talisman notching one and Chair finally getting off the mark.

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 15:18 - Jan 1 with 3016 views | Pdog | Everyone turned up today (evident by the varied MOM shouts), and had to as Watford were dangerous but lacked the in-box killer instinct which we produced when needed. High chance we would have lost that game earlier in the season. The Frey Train was pivitol to our play 1st half as he was bullying their CB's allowing us a foothold further up the pitch. Ashby in his natural position was a nimble outlet down the flank and mostly solid when required. More of that please. Dunne immense at CB, we now have 4 solid CB options with the new addition on top, is Edwards even needed? With more players coming back + perhaps a few new additions, it could be a more comfortable end to the season with the pressure off to try things and experiment, oh the cheek of it. What I've realised is the most costly half hour of recent times - at Swansea - was the only half hour I've been at a game this season and almost the exact time I left due to circumstances the rot stopped so perhaps I won't go to the Plymouth game just in case.

I did not even make the 630 am alarm such was the session last night .First text when I found out I had not died was from my SW buddy who said "great win for the hoops today "and I knew it was going to be a good day .Now have to figure out how to eat something God help us . Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 15:30 - Jan 1 with 2837 views | numptydumpty | Really enjoyed that today Great game and thought as often happens, miserable rainy, windy day ,there are often goals and we usually play well. Despite having many injuries consistently, we have currently strength in depth. A lot of the more senior players returning and with others having greater exposure, fantastic form currently. Thankfully we stuck with Marti. In Marti we trust and even it feel been clever in recruiting another hopefully decent centre back option, to cover multiple injuries. Normally with any key players injured, we totally fold but not currently. Watford were decent too, and we competed and deservedly won too. That's a game that you could say advertises all the brilliance of the Championship. Happy new Year Rangers !!

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 15:37 - Jan 1 with 2728 views | Benny_the_Ball | A lovely way to start the New Year and nurse my sore head. Some very good performances all round. The fact that it's difficult to single out a MOTM speaks volumes to me. After due consideration, Paul Smyth shades it for me. After considerable criticism earlier in the season he's reacted well by upping his game just when the team needed it. He was a constant thorn in Watford's side and in recent weeks has added a final delivery to his obvious pace. [Post edited 1 Jan 15:38]

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 15:53 - Jan 1 with 2590 views | TomS | I'm reminded of Troy Deeney's post-match, pitch-side interview a few years ago, when he said that QPR thought that playing Watford was their Cup Final. It's nice to win a Cup Final. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

As others have said, so hard to pick a MOTM but I'd give it to Field. Marti giving him licence to get in the oppo box meant that, passing aside, ihe is a fantastic midfielder. C'mon u Rs.

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 16:44 - Jan 1 with 2110 views | baz_qpr | Just back, great performance Watford were very dangerous. I've always been very frustrated by him but top respect to Paul Smyth, one of his best games for the club and the thing that is so apparent in recent weeks is that he is lifting his head and therefore making better decisions and is so much a better player for it. I thought Ashby had an excellent 2nd half is best for the club.Frey really bullied them but was on a tightrope 2nd half for a second yellow. Everyone else great especially Dunne, Morgan, Field and Varane. Not sure what their 2nd was disallowed for other than the ref got the corner wrong and knew it so it was always going to be a free kick

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 17:38 - Jan 1 with 1850 views | OxfordHoops | Just back home, brilliant performance today from the whole team, as mentioned by many, difficult to pick MoM, for me Dunne just shaded it from Smyth. Great to see Frey start today, he showed us what we have missed for so much of the season, constantly harassing and bullying defenders, and took his goal really well. Also have to give a shout out to Varane, Morgan, Ashby, thought they all had great games today. Cmon U Rs
Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 18:28 - Jan 1 with 1631 views | mart_Goblin | What a day! Even the weather couldn’t put a dampener on it. Thought it was very good performance by a team looking compact and very difficult to breakdown at home. We frustrated the sh*t out of Watford as we did Preston and Norwich with our work rate, pressing and desire to match them physically . Some nice football too especially down the right in the second although first 2 goals ironically came from the left . Some impressive performances too notably from Ashby (second half especially), Fox, Field , Varane , a much improved Paal. But Dunne and Smyth were tremendous today . A month ago they were driving me made down that right hand side . Today Smyth was electric in his favourite situation , attacking the loft second half . His work rate is becoming integral to who we are now. And I thought Jimmy was a Colossus today. A captains performance for me . Someone compared him to Macca a couple of weeks back which I baulked at, but today that could have been Big Mac himself out there . Inspirational !

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 14:34 - Jan 1 by Toast_R | That win at Cardiff really has turned our season around. It's been quite a remarkable recovery. See what happens with just a little patience? We put our faith in Marti and he's delivering. And Paul Smyth has gone from scapegoat, to one of the best players in the division currently. |
I think a lot of the turnaround in our season has been because of the backing that Marti and the team got from the fans in the 2nd half of the Stoke game in late November when things were looking pretty bleak. Maybe it inspired the team to realise that Marti still had our support?

Penny definitely dropped with Ashby, played well against Norwich as well. Looked like a boy out of his depth a few weeks ago. Looks confident and full of belief now. Watford have some good players…..but we definitely wanted it more today. Never mind the quality…….
Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 22:40 - Jan 1 with 1130 views | monners1969 | A fantastic performance and even better win. Terrific game for the whole 90 mins Cleverly assessed the game pretty well - the rrrs were just better in both boxes Varanne is turning into a real favourite of mine and I’m not sure what more can be said of jimmy dunne - he’s just bleeding blue and white Smyths best game in an rs shirt actually added some output the undoubted work rate Our younger players are starting to get to grips and perform really well and with some of the experience coming back we should kick on into top half Looking forwards to being back at the loft on Monday
Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread on 00:53 - Jan 2 with 935 views | themodfather | For me we were very good worked hard chased closed down Frey was a beast a real physical presence and Watford are a big side , the ref lost control for me but we deserved that win , a big win Nardi is a good goalie but this passing across the six yard line scares me to hell! Bayo should have been sent off for hitting dunne would Barton get away with that? One loss in ten is great form well done Marti and the team

I hope not, as there were a fair few digs given by our players too which could easily fall into the same category.
