As I was coming down the steps at the end of the game I looked up to see the players walking over to applaud the fans. Ryan Manning however appeared to be shouting “f*ck off” repeatedly towards us.
Did anyone else spot this? Or did I completely imagine it!

I was gone as soon as the final whistle went, so can’t say I saw it.

It is perhaps a damning indictment of how bad we have been that he has been one of our best players this season.

Fair play to him for raising his game, though I think to some extent Martin has accommodated him by playing him in a position which makes him less exposed defensively.

But if he said that to the fans, screw him.

Poll: When will Martin be sacked?

He had a better relationship with Russell Martin at Swansea than he did with the Swansea fans. When they started to turn against Martin, he announced he didn't want to sign a new contract and was leaving at the end of the season, although it was said that was because he wanted more money. He'll probably follow Martin to wherever he goes next.

A quote from the Swansea messageboard last year at the time there was talk of Martin being sacked: "Manager Russell Martin stated in February, “I love Ryan." I guess the feeling's mutual. When you're a journeyman footballer, who's been playing in the Championship for 10 years at clubs like Rotherham and Swansea, getting to the Premier League on what must be easily the biggest salary of his career, must make you feel very grateful to the manager who took you there with him.

Poll: Who will win the Premier League this season?

I’m probably being overly generous to Rusty when I say he’s a Championship manager with Championship players as his favourites. I’m starting to wonder if someone else at the club insisted on the signing of Taylor to give us more PL experience and Rusty has been sticking two fingers up at them by playing KWP or Manning at left back instead.

I was watching on TV yesterday and when he came back on the pitch after HT he seemed to be more concerned about what the wind was doing to his hair than anything else.

Branfoot was a terrible manager but never struck me as a horrible man. He was just intransigent. Rusty, on the other hand, seems like an awful egotist. The alarm bells were ringing for me soon after he was appointed when I read him complaining in an article that no one recognised him when he was on playing duty for Scotland. It’s not all about you, mate.

I wouldn’t mind so much if he had any reason to be egotistical (as people like Hoddle, Podgytino and Koeman were probably also up their own arses - with more justification) but he’s got nothing going for him except overconfidence. He’s a narcissist and should be questioning where he’s going wrong and trying to fix it but I don’t think he is. He’s just trying more and more wacky approaches instead of going back to basics. He sidelines players he doesn’t like and over-promotes his favourites. Tall Paul is no world beater but when he finally got a chance he looked like he might be a more effective attacker than Archer and AA, who are both way of their depth at this level.

People say the players aren’t good enough, which I agree with to a certain extent, but I can’t help feeling that Rusty is holding them back. If I was KWP being asked to play in central midfield I’d be straight in touch with my agent. We’ve got a few players who are decent at this level but aren’t being given a fair crack of the whip. Manning is not one of those - he should still have been plying his trade in the Championship. When we last came up we kept the better players (Lambert, Lallana, Fonte) and shipped out the ones who weren’t up to it (Barnard, Harding, Butterfield, Fourpast etc.). This time around we’ve not only kept all the dross but added to it. That’s why we’re going down.

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

Yateleysaint An outstanding summary of the situation. If sports Republic dont act now they never will!

I said this in a previous post.
We are are weaker team now than when we got relegated two years ago.
Didn't think this was possible but we have a worse manager now & a squad of players not equipped to play in the Premier Lge.
The club is in freefall under these owners.

He played for Scotland?!

That really is the cherry on the icing of the cake…!

Not being homophobic here, but the very idea of such a bromance is sickeningly appropriate.
