I’ve no idea what he will get
I doubt he will have an immediate custodian ,possibly a suspended .
He s pleaded guilty and is toughing it out .
His arse will be twitching ,literally
His counsel will be very expensive and compelling
How the mighty have fallen

Rich and powerful people don’t go to gaol.

It’s only the plebs that feel the full force of the law.

Not surprised at all.
As I predicted to lifelong, notwithstanding the justifiable contempt for him ,he was never really going to go down the steps today .
He has no previous and pleaded guilty . He has no previous convictions .
It’s what it is .

His career is over

Having category A indecent photographs of children aged 7 to 9 in your possession and basically allowed to walk free out of the court room..it’s mind boggling.

When I was guessing what the sentence would be I was thinking that 12 months suspended was about right. In the event, the magistrate was a fraction more lenient, but the difference isn't huge bearing in mind that if Edwards keeps his nose clean the extra 6 months wouldn't mean much.

I think all paedophiles, and that's what he is, should go to prison for a decent stretch but unfortunately his sentence seems to fall in to the standard guidelines.

I suppose the good thing is that as one of the most recognised faces in the UK there's no hiding place for him wherever he goes. He's barely going to able to walk down the street again without getting a pile of abuse.

I’m sure it said on the news earlier that the starting point sentence for category A offences was 12 months custody up to a maximum 5 years, Considering category A images involve showing penetration of a 7 year old child how the hell can they give him a 6 months suspended sentence?

He was tried in the magistrates court, the most he could get was 12 months. I don't know if that's the best place to deal with him though.

Yes.
They did have the option to send him to the crown court for sentencing.

My guess had no relationship to what I might think is deserved by Edwards, but was based on the sentencing guidelines and what I remembered of similar cases. I don't think there is any basis in the guidelines for making an example of a person because they are famous. As it happened, my guess was slightly above what was decided.

Six months per offence if they choose consecutive sentencing.

The magistrates court could easily have stated the sentence will be more than they can give and adjourn it for crown court. However, they didn’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We live in a word where a pensioner gets 20 months for chanting ‘your not English anymore’
And a pedo gets a suspended sentence.
If his mental health made him find kids attractive.
He shouldn’t be getting treatment in the community.
He should be in a secure environment until this is sorted.
Telling a judge I was mentally ill should have got him sent to a secure mental hospital.
As next time he is feeling unwell will he take it one step further ? 🤨

I will fire up an email to the unduly lenient sentence.
Hope I am not the only one.

It could be perceived as very lenient based on the threshold increases of late in court.

Depends who you are I suppose.

Pete Townshend from the Who, another convicted paedophile for similar offences given a caution. Yet he is still revered by many.

Most people with mental health issues seek help whilst waiting for help they go the gym or a run or talk to family or friends not look at kiddie porn.

Paedos are the lowest of the low & should be locked up before people who care what our country has turned into.

Yeah I agree with you mate 💯 there should be outrage over the sentence as well.
Custody should have been mandatory.

If it was someone off the street, they'd be slopping out by now and rightly so, ridiculous joke of a sentence.
