Raducanu update - French Open 15:34 - May 25 with 10561 views | Dr_Parnassus | Second Grand Slam of the year. She was very fortunate to navigate past 184 rank Linda Noskova in the first round, who was a set and a break up before choking completely… she today gets obliterated by Aliaksandra Sasnovich in round 2 who is only just in the top 50. Losing 6-1 6-1 after winning the first 6-3. Wasn’t even a contest after Sasnovich settled. She was also knocked out of the first round of Rome in the last tournament. I wonder if there is anyone left still claiming she is the second coming of Serena…

Raducanu update - French Open on 07:07 - Jun 5 by trampie | The whole of the US Open tennis field did not fall over, they took their chances and Raducanu won. Who said Raducanu is the second coming of Serena ?, did somebody on here say that ? |
Of course they fell over, hence why she didn’t face a top 10 player and why she will never repeat such a feat as I told you. Yes several said she was the future of the women’s game, could dominate and would be the most successful British sportsperson since Beckham. The next Williams stuff came from the wider world which equally don’t understand the game. The narrative was that she is going to be the beneficiary of Williams eventually retiring. My sides only just stopped aching after that. I said she has mostly been a first and second round exit player and have seen nothing to suggest that changes - time so far has shown that to be absolutely accurate.

The whole US Open field did not fall over like the ice skaters you mentioned they stayed on their feet and lost and from what you say nobody on here said she was the second coming of Serena.

You aren’t making any new points, what ones you have made - I answered them fully. What you are doing now is repeating them and ignoring the responses. She won the US Open without facing a single top 10 opponent. That’s a freak anomaly which allowed her to progress against a much weakened draw, many of which facing her for the first time with no prior experience of her strengths and (significant) weaknesses. It’s a feat that won’t be repeated and calls that she was the future of women’s tennis, the next Serena and the biggest star since Beckham were laughably wide of the mark - as I told you. These are the answers to the repeated “points” you make. I can only copy and paste this if you continue to raise the same already addressed “points”. You called it wrong. Accept it.

I called it right, I seen some of Raducanu on the box first round at Wimbledon and thought this girl is one to look out for seen her in the second round and thought wow this girl has potential and that is the way it proved, you don't like the fact that somebody spotted her potential at the very beginning and then she went on to great things.

Good spot, are you listening Dr P ? I've just checked and Swiatek did not play anyone in the top 10 to win yesterdays title.

But people in the know had seen her long before Wimbledon. I was trading her games at ITF level, hence I was able to call it right against those that never knew she existed. Stick with me kid.

She is the world number 1. That’s the point, the seeding draw is designed for her to avoid much of the better players. If anyone else outside the top 10 wanted to win that tournament, they would have had to have gone through her. Hence why Raducanu will never win another, she won’t be able to navigate another grand slam without meeting a top 10 player, as usually one will make it all the way… as Swiatek has just proven.

As an aside (and I’m no tennis expert), I thought Gauff played really well - she just came up against a world number 1 at the top of her game.

KrejÄÃková the previous French Open champion did not have to go through the number one seed to win it in fact she did not meet any of the top 4 seeds. So you are talking nonsense, Swiatek did not beat a top 10 player to win this year's title and KrejÄÃková last year's champion did not have to beat any of the top 4 seeds to win it.

What has going through the top seed got to do with anything. Top 10 I said. Pliskova was world number 10. Svitolina was world number 6. Swiatek is world number 1, that accolade is designed to miss the top 10 for as long as possible. The point she won it means anyone unseeded would have had to meet her, that’s the exact point I’m making. It’s not impossible of course, just exceedingly rare. For that to happen twice to the same player is something I can’t see ever happening… hence why Raducanu won’t win another, like I told you.

Raducanu update - French Open on 18:45 - Jun 4 by AndyCole | . You seemed to have missed the point, yet again. Just as Raducanu has done, far too often, yet ever so predictably so since her one-off Grand Slam fluke. Fair play. . |
But she did not miss the point when she served for the grand slam and that is the point that matters, unless of course you are yet again missing the point that is being made.

Depends what your point is I suppose. Nobody has denied she won the US Open, the point is she won’t get close again. So if that’s your point then the match point at the US Open is irrelevant to it. It’s how she does from there that matters. It’s going as predicted so far…
