Brilliant night in great surroundings. Thought all the bands were good but the 'Phonics were brilliant.
Anyone else go?

People enjoying themselves on a sunny summer Saturday for the biggest gig Swansea has seen for years. Shocker.

There was a lot of nose candy. Brazen as you like, dealing and sniffy sniffy everywhere you turned. I’m pretty open to things but it was sad.

Gutting!! I went to the Electric on in 13, Electric is a better album than Sonic Temple, which is a bit more commercialised, well it was for the american market, still going to enjoy it as it could be one of the last times we see them tour, hope not though

The hair and the beard have gone I am now conforming to society, tis a sad day The b*stards are coming back though

Saw them on the last tour, I’ll never know how they didn’t blow up in to a massive band like U2 or the Cure. One of the greatest.

Phonics came on at 8.15.

Some paid that money for tickets but will never remember it, very sad indeed!! Seems like a good excuse to get wrecked rather than go and enjoy the day responsibly..... You can still do this and have a drink, events like this shows the state of society these days.

Tom Grennan was good but comes across as a tw@t.

Back in the day i was a regular down the front at ac/dc, saxon, motorhead gigs and did,nt notice any problems. Now their seems to be a different mindset at the BIG gigs. the stones at cardiff last year, a group of 50 somethings, men and women totally off it, singing cardiff songs????? Sorry but i paid over a £100 for a ticket. I want to remember the first and maybe last time i will get to see the stones. Like some have said on here it seems the bigger gigs have moreof a problem with this. Also some photos of really bad litter problem after the gig on Swansea front with plastic washing into the sea.

Did you see them there in '85 Paul? Cactus World News (with Eamon Andrew's son on bass) were support and got canned off.

I think maybe the smaller venues of old used to attract hardcore fans who were much more into the music/group they paid to watch. I'd guess it was total tunnel vision where attention/behaviour of the day was focused entirely on the group itself?

I think these stadium gigs are attracting 'casuals' more out for a p1ss up and a day out?

Well yeah it’s the same as anything isn’t it?

You always get more tw*ts at the big away games on Boxing Day or the opening day than at the smaller ones on a Tuesday night etc. Just part of life I guess.

Yeah, when there's the camaradiere of a smaller gathering with a unifying shared sense of purpose/belonging because of unified focus upon a true love and passion for something?Everyone just seems to be on the same wavelength and behaves. Nothing distracts in those circumstances.... Its when impostors appear that trouble starts imo.

I bet the best behaved at that concert were the ones that have got all the LP's, who always bought a music paper when they were on the cover and can recite word for word the lyrics of their songs.

They should have had the foresight to get at least 300 toilets. Didn’t they realize this was a concert held in arguably one of the most alcoholic cultured countries in the world? And I’m being completely serious here.
Nice to see WOL happily amplifying the negatives though. Must have made the editor’s day.

What is wrong with people? I know someone who was down the front in the gold circle for the stones gig, same problems in that area with people acting like morons. Tickets were silly money in that area, i just don,t get it? But im a music fan i suppose.

I quite like the ‘valleys’ narrative of their 1st record ( Word Gets around)-1000 trees, goldfish bowl, local boy....... but god they have been dreadful since. If they were
Not Welsh no one would be giving a Monkey’s about them on here. One of many ‘big bands’ who leave me cold

AC/DC tribute band. I think the only true original acts we’ve given the world are the manics and Gorkys Zygotic Munci. Yes, I did say munci

Love a bit of musical snobbery. People get so irate about bands they don't listen to but others enjoy.

Went to the gig. Nowhere near as good as '99, but perhaps age is catching up with me. Far too many drunken dickheads about as mentioned. Big difference between enjoying a few pints whilst watching an event and charging around like a drunken arse making a nuisance of yourself to others.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
