NHS Couch to 5K - Planet Swans Weightloss and Fitness Group 10:13 - Apr 4 with 6106 viewsBLAZE

Anybody else fancy trying this with me?

In the past I've tried to do too much, too soon which isn't an enjoyable experience and I inevitably give up before I see any benefits. But the Couch to 5K slowly builds your fitness over 9 weeks, taking you from essentially 0 running ability to 5K and beyond

You can either download and follow the podcasts here; https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/get-running-with-couch-to-5k/#download-nhs

Or download the app from;

It was a doctor's recommedation, after a operation.
It's 800 Cals a day. By Dr Micheal Mosley.
Mind you I will have a few beers tomorrow a day off won't harm

800 calories a day is virtual starvation.Auschwitz captives had about 700.

I have had slight hunger pangs which I will eat celery or tomatoes.
But other than that it's going better than I thought.

Breakfast is had
Fat free Greek Yoghurt with a hand full of fruit and some crushed mixed nut 200 Cals

Tonight Bolognese made with Quorn instead of beef 170 Cals.
I will have 2 portions with a side said which will be 380 calso.
So I have 220 for lunch.

About two years back I got a larger dog, a Ridgeback. We also have a terrier who is not so keen on walking. Might not work for you but could borrow someone else's large canine?

I find the dog helps a lot. I am out between 5.30am amd 7am every morning. Started off slow but now get a god few kms in. Walking only.

I have done lots of running at a high level and recommend daily walking. Swimming and cycling once a week each.

Playing any sport on the weekend is the big one. Got to have something to aim for. Join a pub team and play in goals or maybe referee. I do refereeing every two weeks after our game - it is not much fun but is a good work out under pressure. Or take up badminton, tennis, squash or table tennis.......

Good luck Blaze 👍 brilliant thing to do, really hope it goes well for you, it would be fantastic if you can stick to it and reach your objectives.

And well done to everyone else. Must say it is amazing what Phil achieved and most importantly maintained.

Great post, chad.
