We didn't plan to get Hilly when he was given the job first time around, lets at least give the board time to see who applies. On a separate note, Hilly and Flicker don't seem as close as the once were, I expected a couple of ' When I spoke to Hilly' from Flickers, although he was very complimentary.

While I don't blame them for going to Barnsley when they did, Flitcroft should remember that when he says there's no loyalty in football...

Radio Manchester tonight. on 18:08 - Mar 4 by 1907 | So the fans have spent years being belittled and insulted by the club manager. Everyone is well aware of how much this has annoyed the fans. Said club manager is fired. CEO then publicly insults fans. Brilliant. |
It seems more and more fans are def warming to the new CEO, he'd give Basil Fawlty a good run for his money with his customer service skills.

Radio Manchester tonight. on 18:08 - Mar 4 by Ninco | So just supposing they interview someone in the next couple of days, give him the job, but let BBM run the game on Saturday. Supposing BBM then pulls off a really good win. Do they then tell BBM he is back to coach and some new guy is taking over, or do they keep BBM on? I think they will wait until after Saturday before they give anyone the job. |
Iām going to go out on a limb here and say if we appoint somebody before Saturday, and BBM/Tony Ellis take charge for the game and win, then the board would have no choice but to DO NOTHING BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALREADY APPOINTED A MANAGER! Jesus wept. Talk about posting for postings sake.

Flitcroft is Hillās mate, heās going to speak well of him .Gary Jones until recently had no contact with the club for years. Why would the board seek their opinion? They have decided Hill has run out of ideas I guess

Because they are business men who donāt know the footballing side of a football club. Seeking guidance from people who have an insight wouldnāt be a bad idea in my book. Ed Woodward at united has recieved heavy criticism for his lack of footballing knowledge at united and is largely blamed by their fans for finding themselves where they did at the start of this season. This despite the fact he has taken them to new heights in the commercial and corporate world. Iād say weāre in a similar situation with our board and their lack of any idea [Post edited 4 Mar 2019 22:23]

I didnāt expect you to understand. The point I was making is a fcuking radio station appear to have performed more ādue diligenceā (for lack of a better description) on the position of terminating Hill and Beechās contract than our board of directors. They have certainly made a statement. Iāll give them that.

The businessmen on our board are the hugely achieving (in RAFC terms at the very least )Graham Rawlinson and Andrew Kelly. The others all appear to be employees, except Bottomley, whose last employer has ceased trading according to Companies House. He is now employed again. Somehow.

That was the point I was trying to make in that the club is probably in safe hands from a business point of view, but are they really best placed to be making footballing decisions..

Radio Manchester tonight. on 00:36 - Mar 5 with 2159 views | James1980 | Regarding 'slagging off' fans, I don't believe for one second that it was directed at all fans but at a small number. The problem was that wasn't made abundantly clear when Hill made such remarks. The board didn't instruct him to come out after making them. To say something along the lines of, 'I understand fans frustrations, sorry for reacting the way I did etc etc'. I believe Hill felt the team were almost like his children and like many parents felt if any 'telling off' was to be done that he should do it/didn't like his 'children' being criticised. DB's comments about fans were very foolish though and totally unnecessary. I personally think the pay per game tickets for these last six home matches should have the prices cut. To hopefully encourage more fans into the stadium.

They just got two people who they knew would express surprise at the decision, not much diligence there, due or otherwise. With respect, Iām unsure how you are aware of the boardās thinking on this matter. Not sure you can claim āa general consensus ā from two comments either [Post edited 5 Mar 2019 6:34]

Radio Manchester tonight. on 07:40 - Mar 5 with 1812 views | fitzochris | Iām as misty eyed about Hill as the next supporter and canāt even stand to read the good times thread for that reason. However, letās look at this analytically. Us fans, some ITKs and the board themselves have witnessed the following: Poor results, performances, player fall outs, wasted budget, unpopular training sessions, set play embarrassment and more. It couldnāt go on. The Wimbledon game sealed it for me, Plymouth poured salt on it and by Luton, I was numb. Hill was in danger of irreparably damaging his legacy. What happens next may not work either, but the board couldnāt let this scenario continue. How they went about it is open to question, though. A public backing followed by a public flogging suggests right hand and left arenāt coordinated.
