The election results thread 19:10 - Jun 8 with 58092 views | exiledclaseboy | Polls close 10pm. BBC, ITV and SKY release the results of their joint exit poll also at 10pm. Some of you may remember election night two years ago when the exit poll predicted a Tory win. It was roundly ridiculed by politicians of all parties and most us on here. You could see Professor John Curtice (who oversees the poll) visibly wilting and wondering if he'd just wrecked his career and reputation. The same Prof Curtice got progressively more smug as the night rolled on and it turned out his poll was more or less spot on. First result due about 11pm. From Sunderland. The outcome may be a foregone conclusion but it should be exciting for about an hour or so. Get it stickied for 24 hours or so please, mods. Oh, and can someone keep Perch and Bluey away from sharp objects please. Just in case.

Tories are 1/25 nailed on to win Boston. Ukip 9/1. Any poll that has ukip winning a seat can be immediately disregarded. I know ukip voters are unbelievably stupid, but they're not so stupid as to vote ukip, when Theresa will give them everything they want.

Good point. Some Abbott-esque preparation there. Doubt if it will be too far away though... | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Laughable at first read but that's really shocking tbh - primary school kids being indoctrinated by staff who threatened to close a polling station due to not wanting to follow election law? [Post edited 8 Jun 2017 21:17]

Results should be in earlier than usual. This is a GE where there aren't other elections going on at the same time so it's expected to have results coming in quicker.

Was Tory/Lib Dem marginal until Goldsmith resigned, called a by-election and got his talcum-powdered arse reamed. The most anti-Brexit constituency in the country. Probably stay Lib Dem but who the fûck knows...

Hasn't Olney been reported to the police for expenses issues during that by-election?
