Can you remember the time the so called party of Wales won outright control of the Assembly? Neither can I.

It's interesting that Plaid are called "The Party of Wales". I think that the name "The Party of 20.8% of Wales-In-Their-Best-Election-Year-Ever" is more appropriate.

Plaids best election result as a percentage of the vote is not far short of what Labour achieved this time round.

You don't understand, what you said could not be more wrong, there are loads of years where Plaid have had much higher percentage votes, immigration and UKIP being factors.

Ah yes, you're quite right. In the First Assembly elections, Plaid got 30%. Fine, Plaid Cymru = "The Party of perpetually less-than-one-third-of-Wales"

Yeh, when clearly wrong about something (like I was about saying Plaid were best at 21% when actually it was a "massive" 30% 20 years ago), it's best to just admit it. You should try it from time to time. It may give a reason for other posters to start respecting your views.

Ms Wood for First Minister on 22:10 - May 13 with 989 views | trampie | Some speculation that Plaid will press Labour to abandon their M4 relief road route for a more affordable route enabling money to be spent around Wales. Plaid have said they are looking to get the voting system changed, but with Labour getting nearly half the seats with only about a third of the vote then Labour might be reluctant although it would be the right thing to do. That is fantastic if it happens! Also!............Please go easy on him (you know who!), he is so young, so gullible and so naïve! Take yesterday for example? When all the gloating about Leanne Wood talking with UKIP was going on. To witness the way you strategically bided your time and held fire (however tempting it must have been) so you could deliberately facilitate and create an utterly false sense of invincibility/superiority from your arch-distracter was amazing. The way you so patiently waited for Labour to run desperately into the arms of UKIP was incredible. The undeniable fact is?......From where I’m standing it looked like you knew it was going to happen! Did you get any inside information? [Post edited 13 May 2016 22:18]

Just common sense and experience Wingstandwood, many individuals have an agenda therefore they are easy to predict, Labour obviously have an agenda being a political party and they are very easy to predict.

Hahaha I'm loving these exchanges, keep them coming lads. I just forwarded these posts to a few mates who were asking me what Plaid die-hands actually think about the past two days. Neither of them voted Labour last week, but both of them are absolutely amazed at how the past two days have proven to be an utter disaster for Plaid. [Post edited 13 May 2016 22:47]

Our Welsh language is of European significance and should be supported in keeping it alive and visible. Lots of schools doing a great job. Most countries have 2 languages without any issues. Its normal. And Ben and joe also prove that welsh speakers are the best footballers.

Indeed and it does look like Welsh Labour are now being pressed for some concessions to get the vote in the Leadership election. It will be good business by Plaid as we could see a much more representative election outcome in future and there will be more money to be distributed throughout Wales if the black route gets dropped.

What is its significance to Europe again? And no, before you suggest it, I do not believe having Welsh translated into other languages at the European Parliament suddenly classifies it as "significant". [Post edited 13 May 2016 23:08]

There's no greater supporter of the Welsh language than I am - we've spoken about it many times. Leanne Wood has no particular interest in Welsh culture, arts and language - she is interested in 6th form socialism and her own ambitions. Many on here are the same - you only have to read the comments about the opera house.
