I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.

If you fancy porn without the associated problems with viruses and browser history, Normal People is basically 12 episodes of two intensely annoying people fcking in a variety of posh houses in different countries with zero plot and minimal conversation.

Is Ron Jeremy in it.

Not your cup of tea then, mate! I thought it was really good. I thought the leads were excellent. And yeah, there's not too much of a plot other than a couple of people trying to traverse the tricky time lots of people go through at school and early adulthood. Whether that's your first proper relationships, moving away frrom home or finding yourself mixing in different social circles. I thought it captured all of that very well.

As for the posh houses in different countries - that world exists, doesn't it, especially when you're mixing with posh folk at Cambridge/Oxford/Trinity etc.

Mrs Sheen and I found the glumness and moody staring incredibly dull and irritating. We also felt the writer was settling old scores at tedious length. I managed about three episodes, she made it through eight. Our 21 year-old daughter told us she was crying every time and had never seen anything so moving. For obvious reasons, we didn’t watch it together.

Just finished series 1 of Blood. Thought it was really good considering it's on Channel 5.
Now onto series 2 which will hopefully be as good.

All fair enough observations. Reading a few profiles on Sally Rooney, it's obviously heavily autobiographical. Not sure about score settling - don't you need to know about someone's past to some degree to understand their actions? And isn't it glum and moody because neither of the main characters are especially happy or at ease with themselves or the world? Anyhow, it resonated with me and I thought it was great TV.

A couple of pages back, I recommended 'The Good Fight'.

Series 2 was incredible in its handling of Trump, but Series 3 has unfortunately descended into farce territory, and I've never really liked farce as a form of comedy.

Made it through the whole thing waiting for something to happen then it ended.

Currently watching Gangs of London which is very watchable albeit not quite as moving.

I got suckered in by the first two episodes of that as well

By midpoint of the series I was looking forward to it finishing ASAP. It got farcical and all over the shop not knowing what it was or where it was going.

Watching Ozark at moment on Netflix. Quite enjoyable so far and seems a decent slow burner

I should have heeded your warning. It's gone a bit sh it. I feel committed to finishing the series as I've invested time in it but really want to bail out. Cock

'Press' on Netflix is a good drama about journalism. Really enjoying it.

Seconded. I’m not a big basketball fan but I’ve been completely hooked on the Last Dance.

Hard not to think Jordan is a bit of a dick - but you would want him playing for your team?

I ended up liking him, Phildo.

SPOILERS

He was certainly domineering (and I imagine his constant 'joking' would grate after sharinbg a dressing room for a while) but I thought there was a good heart there and that he would be the type to look after his team-mates?

Yes I thought the team mate that squared up to him thing was interesting and maybe a bit typical of a bit of a bully type situation? But he has two billion reason to show he knows more than me anyway!

Excellent documentary though

The Repair Shop. It’s f,kin superb. The episode when the Sunderland bloke had his juke box repaired which contained the wedding song that was a special memory of his deceased wife was very special.

Very talented and clever people.

I am watching historical drama Kirin ga Kuru, set during Japan's Warring States period (1467-1615).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirin_ga_Kuru

The main character, Akechi Mitsuhide, is more like a civil servant than a samurai.

These dramas are normally about 50 episodes. It's currently suspended on episode 21 because of coronavirus.

All of these are on Netflix:

Green Frontier, Colombian supernatural crime series. Recommended.

Puerta 7, Argentian series about organised crime centred around a football club. Simplistic but watchable.

Losers, docuseries about sports people and teams who dealt with failure, the basketball episode is especially inspiring.

Another Life, sci-Fi series that literally copies every plot line it can from Star Trek, Alien, 2001 etc. Avoid.

Loved Losers for the sheer randomness of it. From following Torquay in 1987 to following an Alaskan curling team.
