However, I will say this; I believe living your life along the lines of the ethical code set out by Jesus in the gospels is a prerequisite. | |

I put it to you that there may be a transcendental supernatural intelligence over looking the day to day running of the universe like a well oiled machine.
I also believe there are many universes,dimensions and extraterrestrial civilizations.
Much work still remains to be done on the above argument from design to make it more rigorous. In the meantime, we can confidently say, many features of the fundamental structure of the universe strongly point to a transcendent intelligence behind the universe.
I also believe that our consciousness or spirit goes to one of these dimensions as a collective to be amongst many one day to be returned.

There is an assumption that "god is good" but not all gods through history were pleasant. The Norse folk had some interesting gods. Christianity is responsible for alot of peoples disillusion with religion. | |

I wasn't in any way implying that you were testing me, rather that I believe life itself is a test.
Would I do the things you mention in his name? In principle, yes, under certain circumstances.
However, I believe the whole purpose of teaching in parables was to get us to use our collective loaves, so that we may exercise a moral/ethical judgement in the way we lead our lives.
Man is nevertheless fallible and will make mistakes, but I believe as long as we are making considered choices with the best intentions we are on the right path. | |

Yes I'm sure that holds up in a court of law too. He asks to take a donkey that is tied up without permission from the owner. Now you can try and get around this how you may, that is asking someone to take something from someone without permission, theft.
