Made me laugh though. On the subject - Little Jim is on a 3 year deal and I don't see BA paying out compensation ..and why would James go there? I mean, would we all not want him to succeed at a bigger/higher club? |

My wife came in and found me listening to some soothing pipe music. When she asked what was wrong, I showed her this thread. She looked at it and said, "Ah, the old 'divide and conquer' mentality still exists here." At half-time, she referred to Rochdale as "we," and by the end, she related it back to your team, which says a lot. In my opinion, we missed an opportunity. The players seemed to ease off, even if only slightly, but at this level, that’s enough to change the game. You need to be relentless. When your opponent is down, you have to finish the job—metaphorically speaking, of course. I’m sure the manager will address this, because the game turned so quickly. But that’s football for you. I don’t think it was the referee, the injuries, or the manager’s decisions that caused the loss. I see it as a learning curve for the players, and hopefully, they’ll take this lesson forward and become more ruthless in future matches. As for the injuries, it’s just an excuse. Ebbsfleet had seven first-team players out. |

Agree, first time in many years that I have watched the match and felt we were in total control and could score at will. Essentially we did to them what many teams have easily done to us over the years. Game changer in many respects. Thought Burger was very good. |

I missed the match because I was stuck in rural Pennsylvania, surrounded by nothing but trees—no WiFi, just woods. But I did catch the short highlights, and honestly, it felt like watching a comedy special. I laughed so much I nearly fell off my chair. Planning to watch the full game tomorrow out of sheer curiosity. As to the ref, can't comment aside from blaming the ref is like religion - a convenient excuse. |

Makes you wonder why Allarakhia didn’t switch wings or cut into midfield. In my opinion, complacency crept in. We didn’t put in the 100% effort needed at this level, and paid the price. It’s not unusual after a good run, but now it’s all about how they respond. As for Little jim’s comments… well, I usually tune him out. But if he really said he doesn’t check the league table, that’s just ridiculous. How can you know what’s at stake if you don’t know your position? |

I stopped listening to club interviews during the BBM era. I found that they just spoke in clichés and there were no real questions/answers that added any value. Remember the days under Hill - some of his interviews were funny as hell. Jim in particular talks in riddles and I cannot stand more than 10 seconds of his interviews... it would be nice to actually hear his real views and opinions rather than the party line or what he thinks we want to hear. As to the team, same DNA and issues as last year but the players are improved and with more clinical finishing we should get better results oh for a Hogan, Holt or Whitehall! |

I spend all my spare time dumping on little Jim... but alas you cannot read anything into pre-season friendlies. He seems to be re-building and I do actually think he has a good eye for talent. |

From reading all your posts it seems the team has underperformed.... when that happens I am told you look to the management. All these talented players, tearing up trees for their clubs but not for England... Time for a change at the top - that Jurgen Klopp chap is free |

Agree England matches are super boring to watch - the product is just not good enough. Credit to all of you who will watch it live. |

My grandad had a saying.. 'men against boys' I remembered this when I last watched England, the Euro final against Italy at Wembley. Felt we were the boys led by a youth team couch going up against men. Not watched any England match since (because its shite), so cannot comment. However, from comments here, nothing seems to have changed. That said they are through to the last 16 -anything can happen, including Slovenia winning outright. I do fancy an outsider this year. Probably not; but I am fed up with good young talent leaving our club too soon for 'bigger clubs' and failing in dead end youth and U23 squads. Too many over the years, some successes but far too many young promising talent thrown away. I believe it was KH who said there are far too many dead end cul-de-sac academies... |

SG would never be the chairperson of anything based on his profile and experience. No debate on this. He is a good man, should be remembered fondly for saving the club If he hangs on, he will cause more issues and be remembered in a poor light. SG - Job done sir, thankyou but a wise person would move on now. |

no its... Me: There is no point arguing with you (or a variation) Other: Why? Me: You can never win an augment against an idiot Another one that irritates is signing off an email etc with 'further discussions regarding this matter is no longer required'. Followed up by not replying to any other email or post form said individual. |

Ah, 'knicker in a twist.' Haven’t heard that since 1979, and never in the context of menstruation. Reminds me of some other juvenile sayings .. thanks for taking me down the Pre-Thatcher memory lane: Ants in your pants makes you belly button dance Tale tell tip, you mother cant knit, your fathers in the dustbin eating fish and chips Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me My dad's bigger then your (we all had dads back then) No backsies! Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye. Finders keepers, losers weepers. Liar, liar, pants on fire. [Post edited 4 Apr 10:57]
