| News Comment | Redknapp found wanting by Hodgson, Hughes and Barton - Tactics at 11:16:45
I take yours and Northern's points but I always thought that 'mentality' was something managers imbue into their teams ie, siege or attacking or defensive or old Arsenal hit em on the break, etc etc. Anyway any possible plus from that would be outweighed be his clear lack of form unless of course he's doing a longer Joey Barton type Hughes inspired revival. |

Nice one Neil. Bit long winded for me (I'm awarding you an 'Ingham') and by the end I was on my knees! One point you did make that particularly caught my eye was " It's possible you would consider Shaun Wright-Phillips for this one, only because he knows the mentality of Stamford Bridge well, and that can be useful". Given the mass of changes down the road and the time lag since Shaun was there I wouldnt think he has any clue as to 'the mentality'. Am I missing something? |
| News Comment | Newcastle left to ponder consequences of Ashley management — opposition focus at 11:02:40
Interesting stuff. Nobody at Newcastle (I'm talking management)really wanted Joey to leave. But Llambias gave him a take it leave it offer when he should have kept the door open and the hardball atttitude careered back at him. Its Llambias and aided by Pardew who are pulling the strings with Ashley's input being broad based target setting from a laid back position and gunslinger when required just as it is at Sports Direct. Ashley turned £25k into more than £1billion which dwarfs the size of his arse and an investment in Sports direct since he took it over would give about a 700% return. What a mug! Anyway, Santon is unlikely to play a full game and his absence and that of Ben Arfa will present QPR with the weakest links to exploit (so I understand). I'm still settling for 2-2 but what do I know. |
| News Comment | New era but same team for now, QPR head to Everton — match preview at 14:57:08
We should get it out of our system. We are going to get hammered. Let it happen now and have a fresh start post the sprectatular signings and international weekend. With regrets I can see us being on the wrong end of 6-0 with this virus business hanging around. |

Surely nobody has suggested that Tarby should be dropped whenever he has one of his selfish and sulky days. I dont care however sulky and selfish he is as long as he delivers goals or assists. However if he dont deliver and he is sulky/selfish for 2/3 games on the trot then someone else deserves a go. As you said yourself Smith came on and took the game by the scruff. Let him do that from the start instead of one of Eph/Tarb/Mac. |
| News Comment | This Week — The worst part of being top is there’s only one way to go at 09:11:36
In Warlock I trust and he will do what he will do. But a footie message board is where I express my views. I said "All credit to Kenny but two missed penalties and not beating the rock bottom of the division who looked almost respectable against us....." Whats wrong with that? Kenny effectively avoided defeat on two occasions but I wouldnt back him to do it again on Saturday and we didnt beat the lowest team in the championship. I also said stop starting Tarby and use him as a supersub. As a side product that would also allow someone else to take free kicks, corners etc. I'm not saying he should never start but he isnt being effective at the moment and coming on as a supersub may just fire him up and disrupt the oppo at the same time. I'm a follower of trends and the trend at QPR at the moment is for goals and points to dry up. If the defence have an off day we are in trouble because they are playing out of their skins at the mmoent. Time for a little offensive change here and there. |
| News Comment | This Week — Unwanted and paid to leave, a sad end to a QPR career at 12:04:45
Lovely bit of writing Norf; as I would expect from a pro even if 'The Vine eulogy' got the rose coloured specs treatment with qualifications en route. For me after a few flair performances he became a complete wimp and I was probably amongst his most vociferous critics due his lack of the most basic heading and tackling ability and his constant complaining to his teammates. Warnock weighed him up quick as you like and its cheerio chap and about time too. |
| News Comment | QPR confirm signing of Palace's Clint Hill at 16:44:42
Warnock is getting the benefit of the doubt and our trust at this moment but he is definitely stretching credibility with the collection of signings to date. It seems that cheapness, muscle, a willingness to get stuck in and putting in a shift are a priority over all else. Without splashing all the cash we have 'saved' on a couple of TOP CLASS STRIKERS I can see myself getting seriously p1ssed off by mid August. |
