"Harry Redknapp is weighing up whether to thwart a host of Championship clubs trying to sign French striker Andy Delort.
Brentford, Charlton and Leicester have all been following the 22-year-old, who plays for Tours in the French Second Division and scored 24 goals in that competition last season, finishing the campaign as joint top scorer.
Charlton were thought to be leading the race for Delort, for whom they were said to be prepared to pay up to £2.4million. The striker has little experience in the French top flight and bringing him to play at a higher level in another country would represent a significant gamble."
Probably not much in it but I can assure you this man is incredible, folowed him since January, not only does he score an incredible amount of goals, he works off the ball aswell. Charlton have a steal if they get this man. It is a gamble but it could turn out to be one of the masterstrokes of the season. Would definitely take him over the injury prone Sigthorsson who I don't rate at all.
Tom Ince has opened talks with Queens Park Rangers over a move to Loftus Road.
The Blackpool winger is out of contract at Bloomfield Road and the 22-year-old will not be remaining with the Sky Bet Championship club.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace and has targeted a move back to the Premier League having rejected a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.
Sky sources understand that Ince has now opened talks with Harry Redknapp's outfit with a view to landing a deal with the Hoops, who secured promotion back to the top-flight via the play-offs.
Should Ince move to another club in England, then Blackpool would be entitled to compensation as he is under 23.
Well its Sky Sports reporting it so this could really happen
Would be a very good coup on a free hopefully with a minimal compensation fee (however I thought that with Hoilett but we ended up paying 4 million). Some say he is overrated because he is English and has an ego but I personally think he would be an excellent signing. Scored bags of goals as a winger in the Championship for a mediocre team and did well for Palace, didn't look out of place in the premier league and scored on his debut. This is a man after all who rejected the chance to join Inter Milan! Only 23, scores goals, can beat a man, not some premier league reject who we are constantly linked with me - this signing excites me!
Who keeps meddling with our targets wikipedia's pages aha? Just saw a video on the lad and he looks good but he is a big risk if we get him. Least he is young (21) and he has played for Porto to be fair despite not making a impact there.
We have 1 fit striker at the moment, we desperately need another striker and I think this is the man we need to partner Charlie Austin and propel our season onwards. You look at his goalscoring record for Bradford and it is second to none -something like 52 goals in 100 appearances. You could argue that he would be a bit of a risk and it would be a big step up for the lad but he has risen to each and every challenge put infront of him at Bradford and continues to score week in, week out. He is currently the League 1 top goalscorer with 14 goals and at the age of 23, I think he would be the perfect coup for us. Young, raw talent. The rumour is that he is available for £3 million in January and that would be a steal as far as I am concerned?! It was interesting reading this article about Wells' future and what some of their fans made of it - http://www.royalgazette.com/article/20131206/SPORT01/131209802
As much as I like Peter Crouch, I don't think he is the man we need right now and certainly not what we need for the long-term if we get back into the premier league. He would be a good presence for Charlie in the final third and free him up a little but I think he would just hold the game up a bit too much and turn into a Zamora sought of figure :/ Anyway I think Redknapp must turn to youth and in the form of Nahki Wells I think we have a force to be reckoned with. What are your thoughts? Do you think we should go for younger prospects in the transfer market or does Crouchy float your boat?
Two fantastic results against Bolton and Leeds away from Loftus Road. With 4 of our next 5 games being at home, hopefully we should kick on from there and keep up the momentum. We should fear no one in this league. I think we are the strongest team in the division and we should get a top 2 finish. I also think people were being a bit pessimistic saying we will get play offs because we have one of the strongest in teams in the division and spirits are high atm (forgetting swindon). I know it is early days yet but imagine when people like Phillips get fit, him and Hoilett would be deadly. Not forgetting the potential new signings to come. Onuoha was outstanding again today and he is my early contender for player of the season. Austin needs to get his goal by he is contributing well of the team, got the assist . I can see us getting over 80 points. Watford and Forest seem to be the main challengers in my eye. I can see Blackpool dropping off as the season goes on. Hopefully more good times to come. COYRS!!!
Queens Park Rangers are hoping to get back to the table with French side Saint Etienne over a move for £2 million rated defender Faouzi Ghoulam.
The Sky Bet Championship side had approached the Ligue 1 club earlier in the summer, but the move collapsed. Now though, with the end of the transfer window quickly coming to a close, the Hoops are trying to revive negotiations over the Algerian international.
Ghoulam had been subject to interest from the likes of Barclays Premier League's Liverpool and Serie A's Torino, but Rangers emerged as the front runners for the young left back.
Saint Etienne are demanding a £2 million fee for the player and it looks like QPR chairman Tony Hernandes will have no choice but to stump the cash if he wants to get his man.
Ghoulam spent 11 years in Saint Etienne's youth academy before finally breaking into the first team in 2010. Since his debut, the former French under 21 international has made an impressive 64 league appearances for the club.
I was at the game today and I was really impressed with Nedum Onuoha. He looked calm on the ball, solid, got stuck in and I really think he could be a force for us this season. He seems to be getting better every game. I think CB is defiantly his position.
Matt Phillips looks to be heading to QPR, despite facing a further two months out with a broken arm. A deal that is worth around £5million, including add-ons and containing conditions over his fitness, has been agreed with Blackpool for the 22-year-old winger. Phillips, who has also been linked with a £3million move to Cardiff, joined Blackpool from Wycombe in 2010.
Would be a good signing, of what I have seen of him he is not frightened to run at defenders and take a man on. I suppose this might mean there will be no further interest in Andros Townsend which would be a shame.
We need a new centre forward who can score goals because I really can't see where the goals are gonna come from. Obviously there is question marks hanging over what is going to happen with Remy who would be the best striker in the championship if he stays but if he does depart us we are left with AJ who might pop up with a few IF he can stay fit and Bobby Zamora is useless full stop. We have missed out on Hooper which would have been a brilliant signing. Charlie Austin has scored goals galore wherever he has been and he is a proven goal scorer in the championship. He would be a good coup in my opinion. Thoughts?
