I agree. And I feel the issue goes back as far as Warburton. I really rated Warbs as a manager and would never have sacked him but we were actually extremely unambitious in the attacking areas even when we purring as a team and utterly dominating possession. You'd basically have to wait for the 65th minute for Lee Wallace to overlap Chair and suddenly we'd make a chance. We very rarely won by more than 1 goal. And Reading was the only time I truly saw us stuff someone. It was always very very tight. We need to know how to let the handbrake off in the final third - especially at home. We need far more overlaps and far more bodies in the box. Has to happen. 1 win is worth 3 draws. If we're going to get out of this mess we need to go for it properly at Loftus Road [Post edited 8 Nov 2023 9:20]

Kakay in the middle of midfield. Yeah... apart from his touch, passing and positional awareness he's perfectly suited to adapting to that role (having never ever played there before may I add) I've heard some laughable ideas before but that really takes the biscuit. I do wonder what people are watching sometimes. |
| Forum Thread | Johansen the silent kiss of midfield death at 09:08 10 Apr 2023
Among the many bad things I saw vs Preston for me Stefan Johansen has become possibly the biggest problem. He doesn’t just do nothing he actively throws other players into the s**t. Weak and hesitant on the ball he waits and waits until it’s totally blatant what he’s going to do and then releases a slow 4 yard backward pass to a defender on his heels. It’s criminal. He’s also clearly shot physically, so slow and underpowered - lightweight. Creates zilch. Such a shame as I LOVED the player I saw in loan but ever since he’s been permanent he’s been absolutely diabolical. So so so poor. He absolutely must not play - how he gets on ahead of Amos I’ll never know. At least Amos can run and pass. |

Sacking Warburton. In that power struggle with Les the owners should have clocked that Warbs had actually done something in the game as coach and manger and his opinion should be valued over Les - who seems to wear nice suits, employ his mates and make terrible decisions. Under Warbs, we were building. We were professional, we were well run. |

I hate say this and I know I’ll get slated for numerous good reasons but I actually think we need to get relegated and start again. It’s like death by a thousand cuts right now. The club needs to reset and finds its soul as team of upstarts punching above its weight. We’re better that way - as fan base and and as a squad |

I find it odd we haven’t reverted back to the back three long ago. I’m not a fan but it’s the only formation that makes Dickie and viable centre back at this level. We need to stop conceding. When we were sliding away Warbs switched to a three and it turned the tide. Otherwise we are 100% going down |

Ah, it's the 'globalists' fault. I should have known. This very much a joke btw. I assume you meant 'due'? |

Riiiight. How anyone can argue were weren't a well drilled team going in the right direction under Warbs I'll never know. Just LOOK at us now ffs! We were better under him than we'd ever been in a very long time. We used do things like win away... not that long ago, that idea was fantasy. Yes we fell away but we were overachieving, massively. You only have to look at us now to see that. He deserved so much more respect and credit. I wish Ainsworth all the best and I really really hope he succeeds, love the man - but Warbs was badly treated and wrongly let go. The two points are not connected anyway. You can think it was wrong to sack Warbs and still support Gareth. |

In the annals of bad decisions, removing Warbs now looks like the extraordinarily stupid decision it looked at the time. A few things to think about - Our 'collapse' last season now looks like a dream compared to our current freefall. - He was ostensibly sacked because he didn't play youth teamers - but he did when they were GOOD. He immediately made more out of BOS and Manning, he played Chair and of course Eze. He even persevered with Kakay and bombed out Todd Kane for the cause. The players he didn't play weren't, and almost certainly never will be, good enough. Sinclair Armstrong aside Beale didn't play any more of them than Warbs either. - The club was well run, on a budget, with respect and good attitude. - I've never been anti Ferdinand but to me it's now clear he sacked Warbs because he felt threatened and didn't like that Warbs was his own man. It was ego. An ego clash. And for me, that is unforgivable. - If we'd kept Warbs and the STABILITY we've all craved for so long we'd be in so much better shape now. I guarantee it. To think we sacked MW for being in the playoffs most the season now seems to STUPID it is laughable. A huge mistake that may we see us relegated. And yeah I'm afraid it's on Les. |

True but it’s all relative - the Championship is so much stronger now than 20 years ago |

Anyone who knows or works with Amit and Ruben comments on what throughly decent people they are. I love the fact their families are Rs now. It's incredible to think it's been 15 years since Tango & Cash came in with the Mittals. But they have propped up this club with money it doesn't earn and also bought and built a permanent training ground. They've obviously made a few poor decisions over the years bit I don't really see how you can doubt their decency or commitment. To be honest their downfall is probably that they're too nice sometimes. |
| Forum Reply | Critchley going, going... at 13:21 17 Feb 2023
Might of thought the same but then I went to the games... Whatever his strengths the players aren't interested and he has nothing in the locker to lift them. Sometimes you just know it isn't right and Neil Critchley and QPR isn't right. |
| Forum Reply | The “How do we stay in the Championship thread?” at 09:59 15 Feb 2023
I'm afraid they need to sack Critchley without delay. Sometimes you just know a manager isn't going to work - and from the moment I saw his demeanour in the Luton game, and in turn the players body language I knew they had no chemistry. He's a dour matter-of-fact manager who can get a tune out of budget battlers up at Blackpool -- but our lot were dazzled by Beale's energy and personality (and optimism) and it's just clearly been a very depressing change of gear for a lot of them. Frankly, looking at it, and with all that's gone on since - our widely shared disbelief that Warburton was being binned looks more and more correct. We'll struggle to get a better manager. I'd argue he was our best since Warnock. So the question is -- who replaces Critchley? Tough one. Might need to be Ainsworth now |

I love it how the dumbest people now think they 'can see the truth'. Only in the age of the internet. Empowering the stupid to think their moronic minds are worth something. |

If you saw Locadia play for Brighton you would not be suggesting we give him a go. All gloves bad attitude and zero talent. |

I honestly think we might, might, have a top 6 starting eleven but we definitely don't have a top 6 squad - so why do we all feel we should be doing better than we are? Before the spurt under Warbs we'd been in and around relegation for several seasons in a row. Unless we get an exceptional savant manager, we're probably just where we belong the table. Fans attitude feels a bit haywire and over the top at the moment, |

Northern I agree with a lot of what you're saying but you're wrong about the Banfield Willock link. It came publicly and directly from the club that Neil Banfield strongly recommended him after working with him an Arsenal. I'll have a look for the quotes. |
