You mean he isn't a fantastic young coach who after great success at QPR and Rangers has now deigned to come to Wearside and be equally brilliant here? What have we done to deserve him? He clearly has the same self-belief and dazzling power-point presentation that has enabled Lee Johnson to bluff his way into six jobs without achieving a thing. |

Most certainly not happy. It's not just that he is such a bastion of loyalty and integrity; there's no evidence he's particularly good. |

You surely received compensation for Bloomfield. That was a straightforward acquisition of a manager who was employed by another club. I have never come across a case like Etherington's. He resigned after just over 30 days claiming he'd been misled regarding the transfer budget, etc. Crawley Town issued a statement which implied no criticism of Etherington. Unless Crawley continued to pay Etherington from 29th December last year until now I don't understand what their claim is. If they continued paying him why? If they continued paying him surely Etherington knew he had an obligation to tell Colchester's owners as he accepted the caretaker role, though even being in charge of your under-21's would have caused a breach of his agreement with Crawley. Basically Etherington and Davies were surely free agents from the moment they and Crawley agreed mutually to bring their short relationship to an end. |

If Crawley are on solid ground with their complaint then surely Etherington must have known about the situation. I wouldn't care but I've backed you to win tomorrow. Perhaps Etherington can be smuggled in in a laundry basket like Mourinho was some years ago. Alternatively he can give a rousing pre-match talk via Zoom. |

Today's the day you see Ainsworth's positive impact I hope! |

As if this fellow hadn't done enough harm by forcing out the popular and successful John Askey. |

Well I got that wrong and I paid for it. Serves me right! If Wilder fails at Watford he'll be looking like a busted flush after the way it ended at The Blades and his utter failure at 'Boro. Oh, and well done on today's win by the way. I've never thought you'd be in a relegation battle. |

I'm afraid it's bad. Bilic's first match in charge was a 0-4 win but his second was a 1-2 home defeat. I'd expect the Watford players to impress their new boss at Loftus Road on Saturday. |

Well I thought Neil Critchley was the right man but it seems that if he was it was at the wrong time. I've a feeling Gareth Ainsworth will be the right man at the right time. |

If he gets the job it will be a case of "finally". I've been expecting him to be appointed either by you or Blackburn for the last five years or so. He has earned a crack at a Championship club as he has done exceptionally well at Wycombe, a club who average little more than 5,500, over a long period. I wouldn't want to be the man who succeeds him at Adams Park. |

I didn't watch the match and haven't even seen the goals yet. I've recorded The EFL Show so I'll see them later. Of course although I'm a Sunderland supporter I've got money on QPR this season. I've backed you to finish in the top six and in the top half. A few weeks into the season I was regretting not backing you for promotion; that seems a long time ago. I think I can safely write my money off although a top half finish isn't impossible just highly unlikely. I appreciate being in the top twenty-one at 5pm on 8th May sounds fine to you right now. Good Luck! |

I know everything is short-term these days but I'm shocked that Critchley's job is under threat already. It is less than ten weeks since he was appointed. I spent quite a lot of time on this board before he got the job. I advocated him, as did most it seemed. It is inarguable that results under Critchley have been dreadful and I imagine it's been no fun for QPR supporters having to watch it. But Critchley isn't a novice taking his first steps in management. He proved his strengths at Blackpool, not only winning promotion but achieving the equally difficult task of keeping The Seasiders in The Championship. The wheels were already coming loose before Beale departed but I grant they're practically off now. However I think it would be a massive mistake to sack Critchley so soon. I remain convinced he is the right man but he needs time; time which many might say QPR haven't got. Given time I believe he could become one of your finest and more successful managers. |

Excellent appointment. I can't think of any better choice. Let's hope he lives up to expectations. |

Dyche should have been Rangers number one target in my opinion. Beale would be a massive risk. He seems to be a good coach but he's only been a manager for less than half a season. There is a very long list of good coaches who were terrible managers. Add to this the lukewarm reaction of Rangers supporters to the possibility of Beale returning. I don't necessarily believe supporters' opinions should carry a great deal of weight, but the impression given that he's a prodigal returning is very wide of the mark. Football managers need to be extremely careful when making a move. I believe leaving QPR for Ibrox at this time would be unwise. |
| Forum Reply | bronkhurst gone at 09:47 22 Nov 2022
The "new manager" poll on Follow Follow, for what worth such polls are, has Dyche clear favourite with Beale a distant third. I've voted Dyche, not just because I don't want Beale to leave QPR but, because I think he would be the very best appointment Rangers could make. |
