Just seen summat on Twitter about Barton acting up and copping a smack off some woman whilst out at the 'QPR Xmas party'... I thought Redknapp had banned any players' Xmas party?
One of the lads failed to get his @rse in gear and never bought a ticket for Man United away. If anyone hears of a spare can you PM me please? Cheers. Gaz
Hi all, I'vr got my trains booked for Burton away on Tuesday but as last train back leaves well before the final whistle I was just wondering if anyone on here is going to be driving up that might have a spare seat for the drive back that I could blag into? Obviously a SE London drop off would be like the word of God but anywhere in London Town has potential...
Morning all, sorry to get all serious on a Friday but I was wondering if anyone amongst the broad church of knowledgable LFW posters can help me with a delicate matter?
My little brother (aged 30) who has a history of depression and substance abuse (although has never had any engagement with any agencies other than the Police!) has been living out in Prague for the last year following a drunken assault on my Dad that saw him spend a night in the cells at Wembley nick. Earlier in the week I received a message from a friend of his out there saying that he's basically had some sort of nervous breakdown (presumably exacerbated by the drink) and was in a terrible state. His landlord had kicked him out because of his behaviour, he hadn't been going to work so he had no money etc... luckily she took him in and has looked after him for the last few days. She's even bringing him back on a flight today.
That's where the problems start. He can't go home due to the history with dad so he's coming to stay with me. This is only tenable in the very short term.
Does anyone have any knowledge of/advice regarding potential next steps for him regarding treatment? What sort of stuff is available on the NHS? Should I bring him to A&E? Take him to a GP and hope for a referral? Try and get him sectioned? I certainly don't have the money needed to pay for private treatment or residential care... Also, what sort of benefits - if any - is he likely to have access to? He's pretty much always been employed since leaving school so should a good ten years or so worth of NI contributions etc... My impression is that there is next to nothing in terms of accommodation/residential care available via the NHS.
At my wits end!
Thanks all in advance for any info or advice - it'll be gratefully received.
Gaz
PS if it matters, he's always lived in LB Brent (Wembley) but will be living in LB Greenwich if he stays with me...
RMT have just announced 5 days of tube strikes. One of the days affected if they go ahead if Thursday 8th May which I think is the date of the first leg between 3rd and 6th?
A mate's dropped out with 'tonsillitis' (we suspect throat gonorrhoea after his NYE shenanigans with a girl dressed as a cave woman) so there's a spare match ticket and train tickets for tmra. Available separately or as package. Match ticket face value. Train's £20: 1130 out and 1743 rtn. ONO if you want both. Meet Liverpool St pub c.11am. You'll have to get lashed with 3 of us but I'm sure yoh're cope. PM if interested.
Ian Baraclough's Sligo Rovers won the League of Ireland on Saturday afternoon with two matches to spare - their first title since 1977. He only took over three days before the season began. An incredible session followed and the hangover is still booming. Up the Bit o' Red!
Right then. Has anyone who's going got any suggestions about where we should all meet - in either Munich or Augsburg - prior to Saturday's game? I assume most R's will travel from Munich to Augsburg on Sat morning so perhaps someone who knows Munich could nominate a Bierhaus near the station to meet in?
Just imagine how bad you'd feel tonight if we'd been relegated! This is definitely one of the lowest moments in my football supporting career (watching since the early 1980s so in the region of thirty years) but it really could be worse.
This season just gone we beat the scum for the first time since 1995. How good did it feel? Amazing. When they ruined us at their place they sang "We're going to Germany, you're going to Barnsley". They were wrong - we're still here. They might be European champions but they're still going to have to Come to Loftus Road next season. We're still going to have two opportunities to take points off them. Imagine how you'd feel if we were heading to Oakwell whilst Reading were entertaining the scum?
Gutted that's how I'd feel.
Instead we're still here - potential "noisy neighbours" to quote a man I rarely do and I love it. Like it it not the scum exist in a different world To the one we coexisted in back in 95 - win or lose last night proved that - and yet... and yet... Next season We will still have two 90 minute opportunities to make that they don't forget about us.
