This could be my first and last. Firstly, last season's lasting legacy will hopefully last long into Marti's first full season. At long last, and for the first time in ages, there's more positivity sprinkled around, and as such, the first game of this season certainly feels a lot less doom-laden than the last first game of last season. Lastly, I think Varane will get his first taste of the Championship in his first start, nabbing his first goal, and his first MOM award, in this his first game in England. Long may it last. 1-1 |

Is he really injured? Is his absence a result of the disciplinary action from the club? Is he off? |
| Forum Thread | Wembley Parking for Charity at 20:43 23 May 2024
If anyone is thinking of driving and parking up in Wembley for any events etc: Bubbly 020 8902 7554 She charges £20 (I always give her more), and gives it ALL to charity (hospitals in West London). She ropes in lots of her neighbours and their driveways, so always has lots of parking options. She lives on Vivian Avenue, which is just behind Wembley, very close. A LOVELY old Indian Lady, she’ll keep you on the phone for 20mins, buts she is so sweet, it’s worth it. Give her a bell and tell her I gave you her number. Dave |
| Forum Thread | Premier League spending cap at 22:20 29 Apr 2024
https://news.sky.com/story/premier-league-clubs-agree-squad-spending-cap-in-prin The amount of money just tossed out there for discussion is obscene. I saw a report where they said that the club who finishes last is given £103m in TV revenue, and an example multiplier was 4.5, so the richest clubs can only spend 4.5 times the lowest income of a club in the EPL on their squad - so they can only spend £463.5m on their squad… and we’re keeping everything crossed that we can bring in approx £12m from Eze sale. Mind boggling. |

| Forum Thread | Non-QPR – Can we type (not talk) about Alexa? at 10:50 15 Apr 2024
I've often wondered about Alexa listening in on everything you say - it must be always listening as it waits to hear the wake word. So what happens to all the other conversations you have, that Alexa is undoubtedly listening to as it's waiting for it's cue? I had a plumber round on Friday, he used a specific power tool that I hadn't seen before, and I asked him about it - he told me what it was and I thought it was clever. I never searched online for it, didn't mention it again... and then I see an advert for it today whilst on this site. WTF? |
| Forum Thread | More VAR shenanigans at 18:59 7 Apr 2024
Maddison punches Florist defender in the guts off the ball. Why did VAR clear that? Why no 10 replays? Why aren’t SKY really mentioning it? What a load of toss. |
| Forum Thread | The Owl and Jude the Pussycat - A QPR match thread at 19:47 1 Apr 2024
I’m not going to go into detail, but at the end of this we’re either dancing by the light of the moon, smothering ourselves in quince and remarking on what a lovely pussy looks like, or we’re going to be shovelling piggy-wig’s shıt into our mouths with a runcible spoon. 1-1 |
| Forum Thread | High noon for Lowe and co… a QPR match thread at 10:43 30 Mar 2024
Having spent an okay’ish season with QPR, lazy, lumbering Lowe will only be too aware of how returning players are want to punish the R’s, and break the hearts and minds of the fans. How it normally happens, is the player will spend 90 mins against QPR doing the exact opposite of what they did playing for QPR, just to really invoke froth and anger from the fans. So, expect a crazed unstoppable lunatic sprinting around, sacrificing any available body part to get the ball, tears rolling down his cheeks as he lines up for something he truly cares about… this will, of course, be the Jamal Lowe that faces QPR on Monday. He’s done well this year for Swansea, a good return for goals and assists… and, maybe crucially, he has just scored against the Owls, so may have got it out of his system a game too soon. Let’s hope so. I’m going for a wild away win 0-3. |
| Forum Thread | Gob Brummin is a comin - a QPR match thread at 14:20 27 Mar 2024
There is a phenomena of criminals returning to the crime scene to observe how their handiwork is dealt with. In some cases the perpetrators are thought to experience a kind of perverse thrill, reliving the crime and experience over again in their mind. And so, Laird and Roberts - the Brum Bandits – the arsonists who burnt season 22/23 to the ground, return to the scene of their horrific crimes to sift through the ashes to see if there is any trace evidence left behind of their time at Loftus Road. Maybe they will revel in the looks of horror on the faces of the gathering masses, or the shaking of the heads from hardened veterans who thought they had seen everything, but were shocked at what they saw inside? The looks of horror though are to be found on their own faces as they cross the line and lay eyes upon a very different scene... this is definitely not what they were expecting. There are no chalk outlines in the shape of Gareth Ainsworth or Neil Critchley, no sobbing loved ones desperately clutching at a soiled Tyler Roberts shirt, or a dumbstruck forensic accountant trying to justify how they were duped into spending money on absolute toss... No, The scene is, well, lovely and green... the faces are a mixture of hope and happiness... the site isn't a vacuous, charred mess... the manager is commanding, strong and looks like he knows exactly what he's doing. Panic sets in, it wasn't supposed to be this way! In unison, already fresh out of ideas of what to do next, like muscle memory, what happens to Laird and Roberts when faced with uncertainty or difficulty, happens again - they both sit down and shake their heads... 'It's the calf again guv' is barely audible above the din from the masses who aren't even booing, they're laughing... and Laird and Roberts, as they trudge off the pitch give a faint clap as some kind of acknowledgment. This is rejected though, the people vs Laird and Roberts is over, the judgement was passed down - they were found guilty, although they felt none, and sentenced to a career of nothingness. 3 to the R's - 1 to the Arsonists. |
