Now I know why so many of us left this site. This whole thread is a car crash of both blatant and thinly veiled racism. Assuming you're the original Kerouac, you were far better than this once.
Who are we to tell the players what to do? It's not your call or my call if they feel the need to speak out against the abuse they receive because of the colour of their skin. Or if they want to support their teammates who get abuse because of the colour of their skin.
And taking the knee at games has got feck all to do with BLM. Clubs, England and players have made that very clear. It's a gesture against racism. If you oppose it, it means you're supporting racism. It's as simple as that (despite what the bell whiffs on social media tell you).
Trumps' a pathological liar, you only have to listen to him to know that. And the test Trump bragged about passing? It's a test given to those suspected of developing dementia.
This love in for Trump in the UK is just bizarre. He's no friend of ours (he's no friend of anyone's unless he can make some money out of it). I don't understand why we've got this crossover of support for him when we have no say in it all.
18k followers since September, relatively few followers back and posting years old stuff as current. A straightforward propaganda site or bot by the looks of it. Questionable is being polite:

Glad to hear it and wish you all the best. Both seem far less busier than this site used to be before the split (as in a year ago or more when we could go to the football). It had been tailing off for a while though. As I say though, visitor stats don’t really matter for us as long as people enjoy it. I don’t find that much enjoyment on here since the split (and I was far from part of the cliche). It seems less diverse and the poorer for it.
A shadow of it's former self imo. And the other site is too. This was never a busy enough site to cope with a spilt.
No offence ment to those who have taken it over, and I hope it works out. If people are happy then fair enough and that's all that matters. I've little interst in the views that are now more common on here though.
Can you now see what we've had to deal with over Brexit? It's exactly the same one-eyedness. I'm not having a go at you here btw, the patience you've shown against this nonsence since the sites split apart is far beyond anything I could manage. I can't post here these days becasue of this sort of rubbish. But how you're feeling now is exactly how non-believers (= non-cultists) of Brext have felt for years. Trump, Brexit, anti-BBC, anti-vax, etc., adoration are so similar - none are grounded in facts or sense.
The Northumberland Uni figures are intersting. It sounds like they are offering testing to all, so they they have 70+ pople showing symtpoms who've tetsted positive, plus ~700 who are asymptomatic. Given in the UK at large wer're only testing those with symptoms, that could mean somewhere of the order of 120,000 new infedctions over the last 25 hrs.
It's not what I've read in "the mass media". It's been denounced widely in the scientific community. It's quackery, utter boollox and very dangerous. We're not mice,. It's not flu.
Bottom line is you don't have the knowledge or experiece to assess and critique any of this stuff. You're just promoting sh*t from the fringes of the internet.
It's wrong. If you don't understand what you're doing, just stop it.
Ww won't be able to revive the economy until we beat it. And even the we won't be able to revive anything that relies on exports until those other countries beat it.
What we actually need is economic safegurds in place so that we can beat it. I'm getting fed up of saying it, but it's not the virus OR the economy. The economy can only recover when we beat the virus, so that has to be first priority. There are too many stupid/selfish people to rely on common sense sadly. That approach isn't working.
Yeah, I know he's a lost case. But for the sake of everyone else, we shouldn't have that sort of sh*te promoted on here. The admins should be doing something about it. Peole actively promoting "cures" that will kill people. Madness.
Trump talked about injecting disinfectant, it’s not “fake news”;
Kalcker, with his chlorine dioxide ‘miracle cure’, is a quack. He bought his qualification and worked for a pseudoscientific private institute shut down this year. He’s an advocate of the discredited link between vaccines and autism. His books have been removed from sale because of their quackery. Genuine scientists have heavily criticised his work and health agencies the world over have issued statements warning people NOT to listen to the false claims about MMS and chlorine dioxide treatments. There’s no evidence they are safe treatments; on the contrary there have been reports of poisonings and they can cause serious health problems including death.
To spread this widely discredited nonsense is dangerous and highly irresponsible.
It’s bizarre. I’ve not been on for a while as this and the new PS site have both tailed off. But I check back on here this week and it’s like the lunatics have taken over the asylum.
The police are still there aren’t they? They’re just not engaging and laying into protestors. It’s a mess though, for sure.
But this defunding outcry is for only a 1% reallocation of budget, from front line police to front line community work. It’s still crime-facing expenditure, just aiming a bit more at prevention, which is far preferable if it works.
There seems to be a lot of outrage to this from certain sections. It seems very political to me. We had police numbers cut by 15% through the 2010s; I can’t say I remember the same people being too bothered by that.
UKIP won13 seats in 2009 and 24 seats in 2014 (out of UK’s 72). So 25% of the seats over the period of this graphic, yet they had 90% of the MEP QT appearances (94% including BP appearances, as this is really about Farage). And the other 6% were Daniel Hannah ffs. Hardly representative.
I think it depends on the programme. It can be biased in all different ways at the same time as there are so many different programmes with different teams behind them. So Farage gets disproportionately platformed to feck on QT and there are right wing activists plants in the audience (they’ve a politically active audience fixer), yet on the next day you could have Emily Maitlis opening Newsnight with a full frontal attack on the government.
I think your incompetence angle is true in some cases, but not many. A major weakness though is putting commentators up against professionals ‘for balance’. So you end up with the likes of Tom Harwood being put up against politicians and presented as a serious journalist, which is obviously bollox. I’m sure there are cases when it’s true on ‘the other side’ too.
You’re spot on about it being more impartial than a lot (maybe offering a broader range of views than most would be a slightly clearer way of putting it). And that’s the problem for the anti-BBCers. They all come from this new populist/authoritarian-supporting sect like the OP. They don’t want anyone to present different views (this is why we've talk of the backers of the right wing side of the Tories setting up a channel like Fox News). They don’t want news, they want propaganda to spread. Which is proven by the OP copying and pasting stuff from the likes of the Mail/Express and political activist sites non stop.
