I've been singing the "woke" version of this for 20 years. Except for Fulham, Chelsea and Brentford. Oh, west London is wonderful. Partly cos I don't like the coarseness of the original line and partly cos I really don't think west London women are any more wonderful than womankind in general. Sorry. |

So you do feel a bit sorry for Ainsworth but you have absolutely no sympathy for those who have chosen to follow this team away?? That sounds very selectively sympathetic! I feel sorry for everyone, I'm an empath. I feel more sorry for the fans though, we all have choices but I have more empathy with utter loyalty than I do with someone who just comes up short in his job. |

Mystic River, it is very harrowing but it basically proves that Eastwood knows more about the human and the relationship psyche than any other director that I ever encountered. |
| Forum Reply | England Women at 19:21 30 Nov 2021
I hate the woman's game. When you have a grand old team, pioneers, trailblazers like Doncaster Belles nowhere near the top division but hastily reformed monstrosities like Man U right at the top table then there is something very wrong indeed. Turkey shoots like this are simply embarrassing. They have followed the money with the inevitable ugly results. |

His tweet is a bit offensive but it's not that offensive, I don't think and I agree with a couple of posters that the criticism is a bit over the top and a bit of a pile on. I'm more woke than the next person but I just can't get worked up about this sort of stuff and certainly can't take any of it personally. I like to busy myself seeking the joy of supporting QPR and there is plenty of that. |

I sent the link of the Preston preview ( https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/55917/take-your-ti to an Italian friend of mine and got the below back. How common knowledge was this in the UK? Certainly passed me by, the cheating shit... "The world is really a small place. The piece mentioned Alessandro Pellicori, whom you loaned to US (Mantova) in 2010 and was then part of a ring which LOST games for bribes. This contributed to relegation from serie B to third division, but for lack of money we were further relegated to serie D. I remember that piece of shit missing a penalty on purpose, then apologizing to the fans. I was in the bleachers among them, little did we know that he was corrupt." |

| Forum Thread | This paying £10 to watch a game at 15:03 24 Nov 2020
Amongst my QPR mates, all pretty hardcore I would say, there has been not a huge take up of this see any game for £10 deal and generally I don't see much enthusiasm for it online. I don't get it. I reckon I would probably pay £25 a game but the tenner is definitely worth it to me to not have a dodgy feed that may or may not go bad at any time. The vast majority of football that I watch is in the flesh, at Loftus Road, the odd away game and maybe 3-4 QPR away games a season these days. Being in Greece in the summer at the latter stages of the Champions League I watched nearly all those games and whilst the football was largely great it was a bit odd without crowds but amidst my growing resentment I decided that the "product" was not that different for the average Champions League watchers. Whereas it was me who was really being deprived here. If I watch QPR on TV I will know by face on average probably a fifth or so of QPR fans, I will know what that crowd is like because I am part of it. (Part of that club, football club as Clive said on a recent posting) They are my people, it is my team etc. So, as much as I am desperate to get back (and I will absolutely try to be part of the 2,000 or 4,000 whatever it is) I nevertheless feel really priveliged that despite everything this dreadful virus has done I can watch QPR play, more than I ever have, since my heyday of very regular away support 20 years ago. And of course, lots of people are in dire straits financially and that is totally fair enough but I spend nearly all my money on going out to pubs, gigs, restaurants and QPR and like many others I am sure I am still working and have a lot more disposable income than usual. In football's time of need, actually more pointedly in QPR's time of need, surely a £10 to have a lot of the experience is not a lot to ask? Sermon over! |
| Forum Reply | FORGOTTEN BANDS at 00:31 18 Sep 2020
Jimmy The Hoover was a great shout but all the rest of them bands pretty much are far from forgotten, wish I could forget some of them! Except for Hot Hot Heat, tune!! There is some merit to the JTH song but largely it and especially the audience remind me of how painful the early 80s were. |

I'd like to think that Eze's astonishing performances and consistency would have made the odd person who suggested he was lazy hold up his hands. I definitely heard it 5 or 6 times in 18/19, I wish I could remember who said it so I could have some quiet words! Thanks for the piece, an amazing tribute to an amazing talent. There has possibly never been a player that left with so many good wishes. |
| Forum Reply | Is there a new kit, or are we making do with the old one? at 17:57 20 Aug 2020
I also love the fact that we have a good old debate about the kit and rightly so, if Reading's fans did the same they might not have to put up with the monstrosities they have year in, year out. I was so wounded by that Nike kit that we had in the Bobby Zamora season, especially as that year Reading had a good one for a change. All in all, I think these are ok. 6/10 both, largely agree with most of the posters here and am very happy that we are back to black and red, they should be our away colours always. |

PayPal are serial tax avoiders and they purposely or otherwise offer people payment options that mean those people are able to avoid tax more easily. I'd always avoid using them. |
| Forum Reply | Antti's Six Knee Jerks: QPR 1 Leeds 0 at 20:47 20 Jan 2020
Ha, this is a great write up, many thanks Antti. I think it was 20 or so season's ago at an away game in Essex, probably Colchester where I first learned to just enjoy the 90 minutes regardless of the result. At the moment with little chance of us going up or down it is easier than ever. Of course it is horrible when we lose but you may as well enjoy it until we lose I keep telling myself. On Saturday I was much more relaxed than ever, it helped that I didn't think Leeds would manage to score but I generally recommend trying it, it's good for the mental health! BOS is totally an enigma. Even when he somehow manages to get past about 5 players he looks like he is not totally in control, that somehow it is all going to go tits up any second. It is quite a contrast to Eze who looks like he was born to go past players. Which in some ways makes BOS all the more impressive. His aggregate performances since and including Birmingham have been astonishing and I get the feeling that he is different to other players in that confidence is not going to desert him when the going is tough, again like Eze. We have the raw material now, I really hope he is at QPR for a long time to come, the blow of losing this new visual treat would be very hard to bear. |

I once worked with a goalkeeper who was in the division below the conference. I can't remember what the team was but there were probably only 20 posters max. He was totally obsessed with the forum. I'd be amazed if most footballers don't have a peek, my concern would be that they are looking at the right ones. |

Blimey! I agree with you about the Premier League, largely a horrible place. Hull is a pretty good away day, there are some really great pubs in the centre and the locals are largely unassuming and easy going, quite like Nottingham I'd say. Enjoy. |

| Forum Reply | Attendances so far.... at 09:57 27 Aug 2019
The different price on the day is very annoying. I make most home games with a season ticket and bring my daughter to 5 or 6 games a season. I don't want to force it upon her (well I do but I don't) and so sometimes she does not want to go the night before but she does on the day. It's really unfair to penalise a parent who is trying to develop a supporter! More generally I would just make it half price for anyone under 25. Our support base is too old, that needs to be addressed urgently. |

I really like woke, it feels like a deliberate grammatical mistake and a nice play on language. Plus an amusing piss take. The one I hate is snowflake, which essentially seems to be the default reaction from thickos when someone is being a bleeding heart or sensitive. |

I'll add to the Mythos is shite, it's just got no bite. The Alpha in bottles is a better local drop in my opinion. I'm in Zakynthos and the barman at my apartments has just given me the outstanding news that he can pick up QPR Huddersfield tomorrow. |
