| Forum Reply | Serious question on FFP - Player transfers at 19:48 23 Jan 2024
Tax authorities only care about transactions between related parties in relation to the company that is either paying too much or not receiving enough - so they are reducing their taxable profits. As another posted correctly pointed out, if on the other side of the deal the company is paying too much tax (because profits have been inflated), then it is not their concern. Generally this is only a concern where there is a cross border transaction. I’ve not worked on a football transfer since Tony Cottee left West Ham for Everton but I do recall that it was subject to VAT.😄 [Post edited 23 Jan 19:49]

To be clear, if it was just the style of play/GA, I'd renew. It's when you take all the other factors in my life into account that the "don't renew" decision gets made. I'm also retiring soon and that will change my priorities. I will attend some games when the sun is shining of course. Would like to think that as someone who travels over from another country year in year out I'm a bit more that a fair weather fan And yes, I do have a very understanding QPR supporting wife! |

I'm almost 60 and have been coming for over 40 years, many as a season ticket holder. For the past 20 years have been travelling from Ireland for games, attending around 15 on average at home. In the past 12 years or so my son has been coming with me, but his life has taken over and he can't attend anymore. I'm very unlikely to review. The travel and cost is a huge commitment, and I have simply not enjoyed the football post World Cup. Not just the results, but more the approach to our play. Like many of you I have no expectation of trophies or promotions, but I do expect to be entertained, win or lose. I just haven't been getting that from QPR recently and I don't see that changing anytime soon. |

Quite a few Irish fans with season tickets and memberships getting over fairly regularly without too much hassle, even back in the halcyon days of the PL. |

Yes but when you write off the loan the release of the debt is income in your P&L |

Don't forget the small band of overseas season ticket holders who also "embarrassed" ourselves this week. |

We are not asking Charlie to drop from 40k. He has no contract at the moment. We are asking him to take our offer over whatever else is on the table. I doubt anyone is offering him anywhere near 40k |

Overseas season ticket holders were put on this system when the "QPR Card" was issued a couple of years ago as we couldn't get a UK credit/payment card. Works ok, can be a bit glitchy but overall it was fine. We have 2 tickets in the family so was easy enough to transfer around as required. |

Went for it early, despite what the accountant in me said. Just hoping I'll be able to travel relatively easily early enough in the season |

I'd question that if I was you. If they are deducting £270 per ticket for the streams then for 2 tickets costing close to £1,000 you should have around £460 still in the pot? |

I just logged into my ticket account and it shows a credit of £340. My season ticket costs £610 so it seems I have been charged for 27 streams so far, with another £10 to come off tomorrow I expect. |

Gonna be a pedant and point out the Birmingham game was 29 February 2020. Sticks in my head for some reason...😄 |

I think there’s an added wrinkle around the 2 matches that fans were allowed into to be taken into account. From memory of you attended then you will have to pay pro rata for that. If you entered the draw and were unsuccessful, no charge. But I think if you didn’t enter the draw you may be charged as well, unless you lived in an area where you were banned from travelling to London at that time. Something like that. |

When it comes to EFL “fudges” we all seem to conveniently forget that part of our £42m settlement/fine was the writing off of £22m of shareholder loans. |

Well, as an overseas based season ticket holder with some health concerns, given my age, plus the complication of quarantine restrictions back home if I did travel, today's announcement is very welcome. |

I would add that Masterson stopped momentarily because he thought Hogan was offside so that would explain, at least in part, why Hogan was so far ahead. Still, Scott Hogan’s good form is good news for Ireland. |
