And I thought he wanted it but it was given to LW. I’m probably wrong though.

I'm sure it was said at the time that he didn't want it, I hope we'll get someone in soon so that he can see what he's got and decide who to bin and who to keep.

Looking forward to a game for the first time in almost two months
Win lose or draw, Sheehan has my support
Hopefully the shackles are off and we will see a very different Swans performance today

We really need to show energy and intensity today. Get the crowd up which will help them. I’m looking at the other games in bits and pieces and there’s players running for the ball, showing they care. That’s been lacking so hopefully today we’ll see a different attitude🤞

Watching Everton chasing down Man Utd, determined and breaking up play, putting players under pressure. I really don’t know why the Swans just jog about following the ball and slowing down when they can make their opponent panic or do something. That has to change today.

Yep, exactly what I think and said above. It’s been our template this season which MUST change today.

Yes, the Toffees were lovely in the 1st half but let MU off the hook in the 2nd half after Everton's intensity dropped off. Great comeback by Man U.

Happy with this so far. I was thinking our strikers were lacking sharpness and not getting on the end of some reasonable low crosses, and even Vipotnik's goal was a bit messy. But Peart Harris' effort really suggested he may be finally starting to deliver. It was one of the best goals we've scored for a while. Hope we don't go into our shell now in the 2nd half.

Much much better today and we should be at least 3 up. Vipotnik looks much better. O'Brien replacing Grimes is a breath of fresh air, a midfielder who knows how to drive forward, who is ambitious and not scared to attack.

This just goes to show that Williams was a poor coach and Grimes (yes it's only one match) was part of the problem because the squad is arguably weaker now than it was before the transfer window.

Some salient stats so far, on 56 minutes,

We've had 46% possession but 9 shots with 3 on target and 3 blocked. We've made 237 passes at 72% success against 279 and 78%.

So, less possession, fewer passes but more shots and winning 2 nil. It just shows, doesn't it, that it's what you do with possession that matters and not how much possession you have.

Franco has made 8 tackles today 🤯

We are not just passing for passing sakes.

6 shots on target

Does anyone feel that Luke definitely lost the dressing room?

Of course he had and it happened a long while back. Complaints about training, poor team selection and tactics and I think that's even before the WBA nonsense.

Williams can be a nice bloke but he's a shit coach. Welook a different team already. Positive, confident, attacking and 3 goals which could easily have been 5.

I hope this isn't the last Swallow we see this summer.

One complaint today we lost on possession 😂.

It feels nice to win god alive if we had pulled the trigger earlier we would be right up there
I wonder if Alan could change his mind and throw his hat in the ring?

Hey Keith,
I posted a 3-0 win prediction on another thread on Feb 17. I should have entered it into the "Predictions" part of your site!

Intensity, positivity and energy, everything that's been missing for the last few seasons. Crosses being delivered quickly and getting forward at every opportunity. Josh Tymon and Franco were immense today.

Today has shown how the l@#£ lost the dressing room.

Sheehan should be confident about his ability and throw his hat in the ring.

If williams was still in charge we would have lost today.

I am a very happy man now that pr!ck has gone, I'm trying to shift my shifts about so I can get to a few more games.

Much better all-round, cracking save by Vigouroux in the first half, we could have been one nil down or one up before our first goal.Chances missed and shots going awry but a lot more of both including those on target.
No centreforward wasting his energy needlessly trying to close down three players and the goalie by himself. All back into shape quickly to apply the press properly.
Wingers and fullbacks having options in the middle, what was also nice to see the ball being held up at times to allow players to be able to get forward to support the front players not allowing them to be isolated killing forward motion.

Away games for us again too now. I won't have to worry about the timing belt either!

Yes, today really shows how poor Williams was, such a tirnaround in a short space of time. They looked a different team and maybe now we can look up the table. Not at the play offs but a decent finish hopefully.

We're only 11 points off 6th though, what may have happened if we'd pulled the trigger on Williams straight after West Brom? Sheehan in charge and maybe a couple more wins?

If nothing else today seems to confirm that our biggest problem this season was not and never has been the squad. It's also strong evidence to support the idea that we're going to be just fine without Matt Grimes.

Must admit I was a little concerned when Vig tipped that header over early on but after that we grew into the game with confidence, pace and aggression, never letting them settle on the ball and working hard for each other. The tempo of passing and movement was also a massive upgrade on much of what we've seen before.

Who would have thought that just letting players play instead of chaining them into unnecessarily complex and tedious systems would pay dividends?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Those figures are pretty damning evidence against the Martin/Williams approach. May we never be subjected to it again.

Incidentally, my mate who I sit next to at the football works quite closely with an office in Coventry. Naturally they chat about the football now and again. Apparently they're really dominating possession at the moment but don't counter attack as quickly as they used to. They're not sure why.

But then again Grimes has started the last three games for Coventry and they have won them all, so I don't think the supporters will be complaining for the moment.
