Why has a St Patrick's day march stopped on safety grounds? on 06:22 - Feb 19 by Scotia
It's not required to be provided from Wales. Areas of England are equally wet. We aren't going to make cash selling water to England.
It is not that simple. Wales cannot sell its water to anyone else either.
England would have huge difficulties replacing the current water supply including new dams and new pipelines. It would take decades. The designs for dams are ultra safety conscious.
People like to cast Cymru and a receiver of subsidies but I do not buy it because the odds are stacked against us. Welsh did themselves no favours by siding with Farage and co.

Correct - dont take Wales’s water for nothing, and then tell Wales its a basket case econony that needs handouts to keep it afloat.
Nobody is suggesting charging over the odds, but fair market value would help wales prosper. Whats wrong with that ?
Wales might prosper and need less handouts. Win win. Unless of course prefer the Wales-shire model where we turn wales into a theme park ?

The Wales is subsidised argument is largely a book keeping issue with the profits of Welsh workers reflected in accounts of companies based in London.
I have just come back from Bosnia which is an independent federal country of the same size and population with event greater challenges than Wales has. Welsh people would be worse off probably after independence. English people voted for Brexit understanding they could be worse off but went ahead anyway and are worse off.
