Just had the news that my severely disabled(Spina Bifida) and QPR loving brother Jim died this afternoon after a short illness.
I looked after him for over 30 years, fought tooth and nail against the odds for his care provision but for many years we were compleley two against the world.
When he was younger and more mobile I actually got him up to the White city to see a coiple of games(we lost of course) and the greyhound meetings.
We also went up to Marquee Club Wardour Street to see Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix.
He enduted so much abuse at school and in later life when prople would take the piss - I had to "correct" one or two,,,,
Well at least he'sout of pain now.

Sorry about that.

Aww so sorry for your loss Sonofpugwash...

Rest in Eternal Peace Jim and I would truly believe he is in the great and beautiful place, he deserves, in however that works.

And sounds like you have done above and beyond the call of duty and that's so impressive that you did that.

Absolutely your brother would have been massively appreciative of your help.

Have worked with people with disabilities over long periods now and so many get bullied and discriminated against when such things are not supposed to happen anymore.

And actually it can often be family members who are the worst abusers so be very proud of your own actions Sonofpugwash .

RIP Jim.

Really sorry to hear this mate. You've mentioned Jim a few times on LFW over the years so i was kind of aware of your situation. Must be a really tough time at the moment for you and the family.
I hope you can take solace in the fact you helped fight your brothers battles right too the end. You stood by him . Respect mate. xx

Thanks so much for the messages of support guys,I'm in tears again now.
You would have like Jim,R's supporter whos favourite player was Rodney Marsh. He was also an afficianado of heavy Rock and classical music,a bit of an authority on Sir Christopher Wren and the Roman occupation of Britain.
Amongst that a very surreal sense of humour - he loved the Goon Show radio progs. As in life he was a battler to the end.
Further to his wishes I'm going for a no frills cremation but am probably going to be strugglind to achieve the wish of having his ashes compressed into a diamond and set into the wall of the Sistine Chapel!
Thank you all once again. This is the most wonderful site ever and filled with the most wonderful people.
Your's in appreciation Pugwash (real name Gareth, although everybody calls me Ki) ) x

So sorry for your loss.
And so despairing that so called humans made his life harder than it already was.
I hope you also have good memories to hold on to.
Rest in peace Jim.

Very sorry to hear your terrible new mate.

RIP Jim.

Look after yourself mate, whilst it is a very personal journey and one I find myself going through myself these last 3 months and my brother was James too, let it out if you can, however it needs to, talk and cry.

The good memories will brighten as the memories of the struggles and hardship begin to fade in time.

Take care of yourself mate and God bless Jim and that he is out of pain.
